It's annoying how these posts are getting derailed for personal enjoyment and to poke fun at others.

Let's try and keep things on track, please. 🤞

Kyogo ran around a lot down here. Doesn't help that he's about 4 foot 9.
Not sure height is such an issue these days or ever really has been. We don't exactly play long ball football and need a lump upfront.

Not convinced in Kyogo myself
Let alone his reported 40k a week wages at Brum
We wouldn't be paying that weekly wage. Brum recently signed a striker so now have 4 strikers on their books.
I suppose they might be looking at getting one of their books for the remainder of the season so might be available at a good loan deal Inc a small % of his wages.

This season Idah has a minutes per goal rate of 204 minutes in the Championship, with most of his appearances coming off the bench. Kone's rate is 386 minutes, almost double Idah's, while playing for a team that scores more goals than us.

We are lucky that Vipotnik has done so well this season, but it's not hard to imagine that a guy who scored 20 goals last season in the SPL and Champions League would also have scored a good amount if he was starting regularly.

The desire to write Idah off from day one only makes sense if the person doing so is a Rangers fan. Otherwise it's baffling.
Why is it baffling, I just don't rate Idah and I don't think scoring in the SPL equates to being able to do so in the Championship.

I have seen nothing from Idah to suggest he would be any better than his record when he was at Norwich (which was pretty poor), so yes it is hard to imagine he would have scored a good amount if he was starting regularly.

Also there is the question why isn't he starting regularly (spolier alert it's because he's not good enough)

Another way to look at it, is the fact he's competing for a starting spot with the divisions leading scorer.

He's not a lone striker. He has other attributes and feel he would work better off a striker so that would mean playing out wide in our formation. He likes the ball at feet and facing the opposition goals.

Getting 15/20 goals in the Scottish prem isn't a wow thing and you only need to look at Kyogo and Sam Dalby to see that taking that scoring record into the Champ and L1 is a struggle.

We need to look at ways of getting him on the pitch when back especially as we paid so much for him.

Number 10?

I agree he's not a lone striker, I just don't where he plays as I don't see him as a No10.

Some have mentioned out wide, I don't see the workrate in him to play there.

I find him a strange signing unless you are gonna play 2 up top.

Kyogo would be another tremendous waste of resources even if it is a loan. We could get a fringe premier league player (like we did with O'Brien) for the same wages he's on.

As Smurph said, he's not playing because Vipotnik is playing and scoring at a level far exceeding his first season here.

There's no doubt in my mind that Idah was signed to be our main striker this season. A club like us doesn't spend as much as we did (wherever in the suggested fee paid it actually fell, it's certainly a few million at least) for a backup. If if wasn't for Vip's huge improvement, Idah would be the regular starter up top, despite the judgement of a few football experts on here that he can't play there.

Once Idah is fit, if Vipotnik is injured or sold, Idah will 100% take his place in the team. If he does so for a good run of games, we can then assess whether he's actually good enough or not, rather than make a ridiculous early judgement that is then clung on to despite how irrational that is.
