• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

A few “Martin out” fans choking on their huge slice of humble pie. 😂

Myself and many others wanted Russ out until this current run of form, but let’s not pretend that we weren’t utter dogsh*t week after week with it looking certain that Russell did not want to budge an inch with his playing style and ‘process’. Our style of play and suicide football at the back was unbelievably frustrating and we were continuing to play like that week after week despite the awful performances and results (this spans back to last season).

Thankfully something seems to have clicked in Martin’s head that we need to play to our strengths, adapt and ditch some of this idiotic play at the back. Actually take chances rather than constantly passing backwards to keep possession…play with intent.

I’m pleasantly surprised that he’s turned this corner, he’s certainly bought a lot more time now in my eyes, let’s hope that this continues.

This is definitely not true, but never let the truth get in the way of a good story......!

In the main I only post based on facts. As above.

Can't be arsed with second hand opinions, such as those gleaned from bumping in to Russell Martin's brother.

Horse's mouth, or not at all.

Have you tried going back to the other place? Seems like they need the numbers and are inviting the banned back on.

Careful! This is a good thread, let's not get this deleted to protect special K's ego ...

Well yes and no. I think most of the Russell out people were Russell out if he didn't change and we continued to play way we were which wasn't working. I doubt if we'd continued that way we'd have picked up this many points.

Our upturn in form has coincided with a number of changes that have been made:
- Benda has come in.
- O Cooper has come in.
- the new set piece coach has bedded in
- the emphasis on pointless passing without intent at all costs had evidently been dropped.

So Martin deserves credit for learning and having the balls to make the changes needed but it is him who has changed, not the fans who were justifiably questioning performances and tactics.

Agree with all of this.

RM was on a one way ticket to losing the fans (and with it possibly the board too) if things stayed as they were. This new approach has helped win over two different sets of fans, those who just want us to win and those who want to see us play positively rather than possession for the sake of it.

Plus Joe Allan has come back. A player with a lot of experience, a key player in a European Cup semi-final team, a man who has played possession football successfully and knows how it works. I suspect (I have no inside info.) that Joe may be acting as a sort of low key DoF.

"By all accounts Martin was apoplectic when he was told to ditch the Fish and his Darling. Equally seething when recently told to not punish Oba any longer and include him in the matchday squad."

What is your source for this information? Who else in a management position in the club would have been "telling" him to coach in a different way as you describe? You sound like you have inside knowledge, so share it with us.

As you no doubt appreciate, revealing itk sources is a no-go. Always has been, always will be. Thank heck.

Suffice to say my impeccable sources have impeccably served the Swans fans' 'Exclusive News' landscape impeccably over the past few years in particular.

In this case, Martin was told in no uncertain terms to ditch Martinball. To the bin. And listen to the senior players. The change is transformational and oh so telling.

Joe Allen. Player manager. By all accounts.......
