History is complex, some stuff is real, some stuff is fantasy, but institutions had royal approval and they've clearly had an impact on the language we speak, why do you assume I don't read a lot?.. what have you achieved that makes you such a snotty tw*t then.. I'll just reel off two of mine, I have an IQ of 147, not quite a genius, just below it and I have had an input in finding a cure to a specific cancer

Yes you seem to have really latched onto the fantasy aspect. I assume you don't read much (maybe you do but it's Harry Potter or something) because I'm giving you specific examples of people and events regarding Welsh education and literacy and you seem dumbfounded and clueless on what you've just been told.

And again there's no link between literacy and the royal family. Religion yes (and I'd abolish that too), and when schooling became compulsory in Britain in the 1870s it was via act of Parliament (the monarchy was becoming constitutionally irrelevant by that point) and funded via taxes.

It's OK I'll keep my achievements to myself - I'm not that insecure that I need to tell them to randoms on a football forum.

Well done, i wouldn't possibly dream of debating you in relation to cancer treatments. Maybe better to stay in your own lane?

My god  wtf is he going on about.. I'm sitting here laughing my tits off

Haha well in fairness you do have a sense of humour despite your other obvious shortcomings.

It's OK to just bow out of the debate now if you can't keep up. It's obvious that I have lost you.

Nos dda my friend.

I always wondered how the population would feel about the death of our monarch compared to when George VI died. Unfortunately we have now experienced this.
A general feeling of shock as it was 70 years ago.

The Queen was a rock on which modern Britain really was built and so fundamental in many people's lives. I went to the local shop this evening and it was a surreal uncertain contact. No one knew how to act. It was a sombre moment.
Time will now move on though and as ECB has pointed out we are in a new Britain. Some changes will be small but they will get bigger as the months and years tick by. Anyone's guess how the Commonwealth will look in the future. Charles will not have 70 years to make a name for himself.

She served with dignity. Nothing wrong with a bit of respect.

Indeed. I have no strong feelings about the monarchy and I’m certainly no republican but I don’t understand why people’s first instinct these days is to just be plain nasty. Modern Britain I suppose.

Made an error and looked at Twitter earlier. The US left has always had a hard-on for the IRA and that's coming through in a lot of frankly awful takes on the Queen passing.

Agree with you, I’m in no way a Royalist but recognise the job she has done.
Luckily I’m not on Twitter, but have heard of some of the comments.
Everyone is entitled to their views, but with that comes personal responsibility.
The words showing respect has been used many times. Fair enough people don’t have to respect her and what she stood for.
BUT
Isn’t it decency to allow others to have their ‘moments’?
She was a human being, a mother, Grandmother, great grandmother.

I've been told that CNN picked up on all the negatives that have been happening within the royal family.

Says more about the people making the comments than words can describe.

With Charles now King. Does he keep his Prince of Wales title also or will that be handed down?

And the right wing nut jobs are out. Petronella Wyatt's take (amplified by that çùnt Richard Eden of the mail) was some sight.

No. It's reserved for the eldest son of the Monarch. At some point, after a suitable period of mourning, William will be named PoW. He automatically becomes the Duke of Cornwall.

May coincide with Charles' coronation which is likely to be next summer. There will likely be an investiture for William in 2024 or '25 like Charles had in Caernarfon in 1969.

Also anticipate Edward may be made Duke of Edinburgh as taken on much of the late Duke's duties like the DoE awards.

The nonce will remain frozen out.

On 11 April 2093 Charles will become Britain's longest reigning monarch.

Surely, surely they can stop that farce now. Insulting to all of us.

They anticipate things moving a lot quicker than they did between 1952 and 1969

Charles was only 4 when he became the POW in title, hence the gap that and Investiture.

I think both will be done next year.
