The summer of Test cricket thread

And there it is. Farewell Jimmy, legend forever.
Greatest seam bowler in the history of the game. The right decision to offload him but sad to see an England side without him and Broad. Onwards and upwards.

Saw his last morning and the tributes after. Was bit choked tbh, he's given absolutely everything fair play.

Not only that but a genuinely likeable person as well it seems with strong family values.

A legend retires, we may never see anyone as good again

Mark Wood in for Jimmy Anderson for the 2nd Test

England XI: ...

1 Zak Crawley, 2 Ben Duckett, 3 Ollie Pope, 4 Joe Root, 5 Harry Brook, 6 Ben Stokes (capt), 7 Jamie Smith (wk), 8 Chris Woakes, 9 Gus Atkinson, 10 Mark Wood, 11 Shoaib Bashir

And since then England motoring along at 12 runs an over. Bazball very much in evidence this morning.

Pwoper cricket starts next Tuesday at 14:15, thank gawd for that👋

260 runs off 53 overs in virtually 6hrs of play today, its like pulling teeth, even Prosser would get pwoper bored with that and he spends all day watching the watching the birds in the trees, 😂

Today will have been a great day out at the Test. Delayed alarm clock as off work, small fry up, mid morning snifter (or two), a morning session, liquid lunch, afternoon in the sun, cold beer and a sandwich for tea, bit more cricket, few beers in the evening sun and finally a curry. Fantastic itinerary.

Not sure what cricket you are referring to, but maybe it’s not this

The Hundred mun its fantastic and very entertaining and all the top boi's play it. Test Cricket is for those who like to think they are watching it but the borefest helps them to snooze all day, tired lazy bastards they are😂

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with my itinerary above.

Four hundred runs in a day is great, but far too many cheap wickets given away today.

I’ve hardly seen any of today’s play but why did the Windies bowl first after winning the toss? Was it cloudy this morning or something?
