• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

I Just feel that things are different and Montague will just get the deals for a Striker,LB and winger over the line.

Just so disappointing looking back at the Kaplan/Levien years and how poor they really were for our club.
Hope so and if we got 3 more in (with no 1st team outgoings) I’d be incredibly impressed with the business this summer.

That’s not to say that everyone they’ve brought in will be a success but I don’t think it’s too optimistic to suggest that 3/4 will have significantly improved the first XI and we may make a significant profit on a couple within the next 2-3years. 🤞👍

Agree on the last part, although there’s far worse owners knocking about the football league and we were never really in danger of dropping further. Was all just a bit meh.

For me Kaplan & Levien always did just enough to scrape by. I hated their reign and wanted them gone for most of it but they aren’t the absolute worst as they never actively put the club in any danger (that I know of). They were however, totally uninterested and didn’t have the resources to be running a club like ours in my opinion.

Agreed on all fronts there.

I read somewhere (maybe on here) recently that someone called them ‘absentee owners’ and not ‘malevolent owners’ which sums it up really well.

Arguably that also led to a lot of apathy in the fan base as opposed to anger and outrage with Tony Petty and numerous other owners around the league.

The big thing with them was your last point. They didn’t have any real money. I mean they did compared to ordinary people but not compared to many football club owners. And the ‘fund’ was one that wasn’t set up to expect to raise significant money.

Our current owners are in a completely different financial league.

The last lot bought the club I believe as they thought it needed no investment. As it didn’t have any during the previous ownership, so it needing significant investment after relegation caught them by surprise.

That's spot on, this ownership group is far superior. 👏

Sheaf is a quality leader, surprised he's left Cov.

Wrexham must have bought a whole new team to replace last season's X1
