Thinking of going down there for a few days, but not sure where the best areas are, coastal areas mainly with plenty of places to eat etc.

Dicky posted up ideas a little while ago, but I can't find the thread

I tried to find a cottage in Solva but could only get two nights we couldn't make (24,25 Aug) for £320. Rentals in August seem to be for a whole week only.

Good luck. I hope you find summat.

Cheers, nothing really suitable near St Davids apart from a Premier Inn, found a nice place in Aberaeron expensive though and not a lot there, could get a bus to Newquay and Aberystwyth though, may go for that just wanted to try St Davids areas though, another option is to head across the Bridge and Dorset or Cornwall,

Mwnt...Best beach in the world bar none....a few miles North East out of Cardigan. Nice pub on the beach at Llangranog.

Not being funny NJ, but you're going to struggle to find anywhere decent at a reasonable price this late in the day. We've been astonished at the price of UK holidays. Much cheaper to go abroad imo

We have left things late, unable to go abroad to much hassle if we got to comeback on the hurry up, so looking localish.

If you are prepared to bang a tent up in some campsite, you'll save an absolute fortune.....though I know, that you know that already......I love a good camping weekend personally....

Mrs wants a relaxing break Bryn, been a bit of a taxing time with our youngest for about 6 months or more he's disabled, she just wants a nice break.

Just opened that Premier Inn, Have done the one in Tenby and the cheaper Haverfordwest one for Pembrokshire exploration trips. Plenty to see from the more rugged coastline around St David's head, to the "Harry Potter' beach at Freshwater. The seafood trailer there does amazing food-hot crab roll with black laver butter in the Top 10 things I have eaten.

Little Haven, Broad Haven, Nolton Haven.

Marloes, Dale.

The pub in Marloes called the Lobster Pot has a lovely beer garden and rooms to stay.

Newquay and Aberaeron are nice but clean off busy.
Don't rule out or laugh at Pembrey or Burry Port.
A lot of investment and decent places to eat.

The Ship Aground Inn in Pembrey is a hidden gem, plus the Portobello Inn in Burry Port is £2.50 a pint.
The Boat club is nice by the lighthouse.

He's right. I know the owner of a house just up from Amroth, a small two bed cottage, and they're getting 1600 a week during the holidays. Absolutely mad.
