• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Who do we replace with then?

Outside of Schumacher I have no idea

Don't put your hopes for Coleman doing anything before Coventry.

Don't forget, he is not qualified to be making football decisions of this nature. We are all, pretty much to a man now, convinced it needs to be done immediately after today's game. But he isn't a fan, and he doesn't understand this sport.

We may well have to go through the unedifying spectacle of the Coventry game being 90 mins of Coleman getting dog's abuse from what crowd bother to turn up. It might just take that to get him to understand what is needed.
Do you think if Williams is here for the Coventry game and we'll we win. Will he still be here. I think if he loses yes he will go. I want the team to win, but I want Williams out. Jesus, what's happened to me. This is what Williams has done.

Not sure, but they need to take their time with it. I would be fine with an interim for the rest of the season. Williams has clearly lost the players (and the fans). The situation will not improve until a change is made.

It's clear in body language when players came off and some of the coaching team. As Williams walked past them. Nothing is quick fix but pull plug now before it's too late.

I said the same in the matchday thread

Get an interim coach in, I would try to sweet talk Cleverley who Watford just sacked into taking over in the summer.
Get in a man to just steady the ship and give the new man time to look over his prospective players and give the recruitment team a list of what he wants and doesn't want

Following on from mid week:

Michael Duff at Swansea (21 games) - W6 D6 L9

Luke Williams last 21 games - W6 D4 L11

I really can’t see him surviving this, and he deserves the sack. The only reservation I have is who would come here to work with our budget as a mid table club with obvious deficiencies off the pitch.

But ye, I’m on the Williams out side of the fence now, had ample time to change and has chosen to be stubborn with his approach.
I'm not trusting us to pull it off, but there is scope for successfully brnging in a young, hungry manager, on a low budget.

McKenna at Ipswich is the obvious example - never managed a professional match before, then took them to back to back promotions, virtually fairy tale stuff.

The 'Swansea Way' is holding us back. Too many fans want us to appoint someone with a history of playing 'the right' football, which slims the pool enormously.

I have horrible feeling that if LW goes, the board will look at Ian Evatt.

Alan Tate, Osian Roberts in the building in any capacity
OR as head of football, or manager would be very good.

We need someone to come in with some vision and develop a plan to overhaul all elements of the club. Whether it’s him or someone else, there’s a project here that needs a football man (or woman). A quick manager fix is unlikely to solve everything.
