Sheehan getting loads of stick for the formation, but that exact formation with almost the same players gave Man City a really strong test for 60 mins or so, so you can understand why he was happy to try it. Inoussa and Widell were both excellent on that night too. But it obviously it didn’t work today.

Not that I think he should be tinkering like that. I’d stick to the 4231 that we’re familiar with and just tweak it to try and find a way to unlock teams (but ultimately when you’ve got attacking players who struggle to create whatever system they play in Sheehan’s hands are tied).

Fair play to Ipswich, their players were just individually better today. But they spent a FORTUNE on them; we’ve been scrapping for deals (apart from Idah and Inoussa).

It was implemented against City as a means to stifle and frustrate them. We hardly left our half in that game (for obvious reasons).

The fact Sheehan is using that game as a template to keep using the formation/system is baffling. Since City, we've taken 1 point from 3 games.

We looked so much more comfortable and threatening at the start of the second half today after the change in formation.

If he survives this international break and we line up against Bristol City with 5 at the back, it will show he's learnt nothing

He came with a strong Premier League reputation after playing nearly twenty games in the season before, and Ipswich fans would foam at the mouth over him and were gutted to see him leave. He's been pretty average here.
Thanks Coops.... Couldn't that be down to the fact he's not surrounded by premiership defenders now but the likes of josh key, that can't help right?

When Josh Key first came to us, he looked great. Confident, taking on players, often best player on the pitch.
Is it really his fault that he is made to take theblame for everything, or is he not supported or coached properly.
Wasn’t Franco at fault for 2 goals today? Couldn’t see for sure in the ground
