Said a few weeks ago that we definitely have more depth and options this season, but wasn’t convinced that the first team had improved at all. There’s a gaping hole in the number 10 position and nobody in the squad that seems to be able to play there effectively like LOB did in the second half of last season.

Burgess might be a better defender than Darling but he doesn’t have anywhere near the ability on the ball and that’s definitely had an impact on our ability to play out from the back.

Those were the big two players we needed to replace in the summer, and it doesn’t really seem like we’ve done it very effectively.

It’s probably still time for Sheehan to go now which is a shame, but we do seem to be getting worse, and we continue to look completely bereft of ideas going forward.
We spent over £2 million allegedly on Widdel as a number10 and we were so desperate to sign him we even agreed to loan him back until the end of the season.

He is a skilful player with good close control and is positive in his running with the ball and always looking for a forward pass , HOWEVER our manager insists on playing him on the wing!! (Even though he doesn’t have much pace)

Why didn’t he put him at number 10 instead of bringing vanilla Cullen on at half time I’ll never know 😡

This was a dire performance brought on by Sheehan’s tactics (or lack of). Thank feck we’ll have seen the back of that ridiculous back 5 that has never worked and was painful to watch today.
The referee wasn’t shite. The players didn’t give him much choice and he could easily have sent Tymon off before half time.
The yellow cards came from frustration of having to play in a system that they couldn’t work out (neither could anybody in the crowd) with players out of position. The space in midfield or behind the fullbacks for Ipswich to attack was incredible - but it was also the same against Preston. Why couldn’t Sheehan see that when everybody else could.
Unfortunately, the only answer now is a new manager. The players don’t trust him.

O’Brien so obviously was the difference last year I still can’t believe anyone questions it. Although I couldn't at the time.

We have no one who can fill that position. And it’s not Galbraith before anyone mentions it again. He was as bad as anyone today. )well, perhaps not as bad as Key, but anyone else).
Just to add we had Joe Allen and Kyle Naughton as experienced pro's in the dressing room and when available for game minutes brought an influence to games.

Carlos Corberan likely exiting Valencia, did wonders with West Brom when they were on in rele zone
Isn’t he the only manager that we can reliably beat? Let him go to Boro, 3 points in the bag for us.

What's the reason for that in your opinion?
He came with a strong Premier League reputation after playing nearly twenty games in the season before, and Ipswich fans would foam at the mouth over him and were gutted to see him leave. He's been pretty average here.
