S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City v Bristol City | 12.30pm, Saturday 21st February 26 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

I know there are folks that quote the stats that Ronald is no more unproductive than Eom. However, my eyes tell me a different story - for my sanity I cannot watch Ronald frittering away our best attacking positions any longer.
The single thing that is throttling our club at the moment is our inability to turn dominance and control into chances created and ultimately goals.
With two home games, where we can expect a degree of controlled possession -I really believe that now is the time to freshen up our attacking options.
Vipotnik picks himself - BUT the attacking midfielder and both wingers need a shake up.
This brings Yalcouye Widdell Walta and Nunes into the frame for starts. For the record I would go with Widdell in place of Cullen and Nunes in place of Ronald - the others from the Bench.
I would also (by the way) not be totally opposed to Key in place of Ronald. While he is a defensive disaster - he makes better decisions on the ball in the final third.

Hi Jackareme .

The reason he plays Ronald & Cullen is because he trusts them both to give a performance .
Ronald is like Marmite to many .
I like him he is a team player 100% effort gives everything to the team .
Watching him close up from the East Stand you appreciate what he gives .
Yes he can be frustrating with his crossing I get frustrated with his shooting high and wide when he's in the box .
Recently there is an improvement where he strikes them low making the keeper make a save .
I'm sure Matos with his coaches will improve him .
I don't see Matos with a blind spot he sees Ronald doing his job .

Cullen plays because the boss wants something different an attacking midfielder or second striker who scores the odd goal .
Works hard for the team .
For me with Walta & Widell available we now have better options .
Trust the manager he knows what he's doing

Think Ronald's been much better under Matos. Would be for Nunes getting a start, but I don't think Ron is the empty shirt that he was under Sheehan

Walta played 20 mins against Sheffield Wednesday .

He played 30 mins against Derby .
Training with the side since he came here
Will.be surprised if he doesn't play another 30 mins .
No Doubt he will play. I'm just going on the fact that he was in pre season with his last team and jumping into the championship could be daunting and take time. Only Matos and his staff know.

On outside looking in, seems Ronald and Franco are players that Matos likes as you can see that when they are subbed etc. The work rate is something Matos has said he wants from all players and think we would all agree that Franco looks far better and like the player we signed, Ronald too.

Is 100% effort enough if there is lack of creativity and assists?..

Normally I'd say no, but seeing as none of our wide players are showing much creativity or providing many assists, Ronald's work rate probably gives him the edge right now.
