21/22: The Official Luton Town v Swansea City Match Thread

Ok. So without doubt it was a red card.

But anyway.

This is an absolute shambles.

Our formation is awful. It doesn’t work as it leaves us exposed at the back, lacking width further up, crowded in central midfield and with nowhere to go.
I don’t give a crap if Martin likes it and doesn’t want to play any other way. It’s dreadful and easy to play against. It may work at the absolute top level but it doesn’t work for us. We are playing a system that relies completely on wing backs and versatile, ball playing centre backs without a left wing back at the club and with Bennett in the team.

Grimes still being here is an indictment of our appalling business as he’s absolutely disinterested.

Our decision making is dreadful. We don’t know what we are supposed to be doing let alone being able to execute it.

I thought Martin was a reasonably good decision. But I’m beginning to think his ability to talk a game is a lot different to his ability to manage a game.

Oh, and this is absolutely not different to the ‘Cooper ball’ that everyone has been moaning about. Still no shots on target, it’s just become far worse at the back.

Let’s hope this turns around and bloody quickly otherwise we are in for an absolute dog fight. And I’m not sure this squad has that in them.
PS - Hamer is having a shocker.

In fairness the MK Dons faithful did warn us about RM's obsession with keeping the ball above all else, the team under Martinez and Laudrup could do it for fun, and usually with an end product, in fairness, this side is about as far removed from those two squads as you could get.

Keeping the ball out of our net would be nice.

I’d love this manager to be brave enough to change this at half-time. Piroe needs to come on but not at the expense of Obafemi so Patterson needs to come off. Grimes needs to come off for Ntcham (if he’s a sub???) and Bidwell needs to come on for Manning. That’s a bare minimum.

I think our board can't have read Martin's CV properly. At the bottom of Page 1 it said "Russell is MK Dons coach" but if they'd turned to page 2 the first line said "driver."

70% according to BBC Sport therefore at least we're achieving the manager's first aim so it's not all bad.

f**k me 🤣. Sham’s a witch. Burn him.

This isnt really a surprise is it? It was clear to me that this would happen when we decided to try to play champagne football with a Lambrini squad.

agree with it all apart from your point with grimes. He's just shit, oh and nothing to do with board - guarantee you everyone wouldve been sething if he was sold.

He is a fucking shit, end of. Play Walsh alongside, Ntcham at 10 and two strikers up front

Biidwell not on the bench but agree changes needed now

His talk is wearing thin too, as he doesn't really say much of interest. I'm seeing little sign of the emotional intelligence managers like Rogers, Potter and even Cooper to some degree brought to the table.

We've looked reasonably comfortable defensively lately, but against teams who've sat deep and who are also likely to be down near the bottom at the end of the season. I hate to think what will happen when a good team presses high against us.

Its been absolutely no coincidence that every time we have put two up top we have looked more dangerous but every game RM keeps going with one up top
