A New Dawn in SA1: Can Richard Montague's Recruitment Drive Propel Swansea City to Promotion?

You say that as if its an issue that Santos may have to step in at some stage - isnt that the whole point of a squad?

Yep. We should also be looking at the likes of Parker as first reserve if they're going to be a part of the squad going forward.

Parker and McKenzie cover both of those positions too. Both impressive by all accounts.
I forgot about Sam Parker also but still see Galbraith in the pecking order if Key doesn't play.
Arthur Parker and this new Scot can't be totally relied on, I would think a loan would help A Parker and wouldn't rule S Parker getting a loan also.

It could be though.
I would still be looking at another CB,a younger player than Burgess and Santos who is capable of covering a full back slot.

He didnt say it was built and implemented in October, that article says that its something that has been worked on since someone arrived in October.

It would take months to implement an effective structure and there is little doubt that Montague is leading the way in delivering the structure with a good team behind him

October-Jan is months.

Which is why all the targets we have now are the ones we had long ago.

Montague openly admits he doesn’t lead the recruitment.

He literally says in the article his jobs are negotiating the deals, he has little to zero say on targets and he said that himself.

We need to trust these boys otherwise it gets to point we maysaswell knock academy on head. Can’t just go out chucking money at anyone and everyone when there’s a gap in squad.

What about Lissah? I’ve never thought much of him but people a lot more educated than me, as in coaches in the academy reckon he’s got higher ceiling than anyone else whose come through here.

We do but at this level they need to be eased in.
I always think defensively is more of a risk to throw straight in.
I think I'm a little more concerned defensively as I have concerns over Santos, I hope I am proven wrong on it.

Not seen enough of him.
He is going to be 21 this year so he needs too really put his hand up this coming season.
Doesn't look big enough as a CB for me although he could also be an option at RB.

Exactly. Sounds like it's Worth who has built this recruitment team and transfer strategy and picked the players to go after. Montague has brought in some efficiencies and negotiating skills to get deals over the line. Looking like an excellent behind-the-scenes team!

We have been though this. NO. Even if David fking Blaine takes over. Nothing is going to get us promoted. Other than 20 teams getting points off and that would need to be 30 point deductions for some teams. If you are going to keep asking questions, why not ask sensible ones like "Can we achieve safety early this year?" or other questions a sane person would ask.

That’s the spirit!!

I still don't get why people think a striker is a priority - the midfield is still too thin, we're one injury to Franco or Galbraith away from having to go back to Fulton. We need another CM in there for a 46+ game season or we risk being spread too thinly.

Another striker would be nice, but we've signed Wales, and unless we can shift on Yates or Vipotnik I doubt another one is coming in.
I think you will be surprised on the striker front
