Boris Johnson

I heard a different story today. Johnson had a meeting with Sunak to discuss various things but Johnson insisted his honours list was discussed even though Sunak had said he didn't want to. It resulted in Sunak telling Johnson he wouldn't meddle with the list and Johnson took this to mean his list would go through unaltered and he told various people on his list that everything was sorted. However, Johnson wasn't aware of how the system worked and that Sunak wasn't the final arbiter as the list also has to go though the House of Lords Appointments Committee who vet all the nominations and it was they who removed 7 names from the list even though Johnson had told those 7, including Mad Nad, that they would still be on it. Basically, Sunak stitched Johnson up by telling him what he wanted to hear.

Delicious irony!

Indeed, however, that version I read was based on notes of the meeting between Sunak & Johnson taken by their aides so would almost certainly have some basis in truth but it seems Sunak is actually telling a slightly different story. He is saying that Johnson did know how the system works but asked Sunak to overrule the House of Lords Applications Committee to get his list through which would be highly irregular. Sunak is saying that he told Johnson he would not be prepared to do that as he did not think it was right. This clearly makes Sunak look better but it could just be his version of events spun to make him look better. Either that or he's acquired a backbone from somewhere and has actually stood up to Johnson.

Funny how Johnson believes it to be a Kangaroo Court yet has submitted further representation at 1157pm...

Think Johnson has got some goods on Sunak from the lockdown periods and is more than happy to drop him in it now! Tory civil war! Lovely! :D

Desperate, desperate stuff. Rats in a sack. Anyone who’s voted for this lot since 2010 has blood and many other things on their hands and conscience. Not that they’ll have a conscience.

Typical Trumpian distraction and deflection tactics from the fat cnut.
"It wasn't me! The big boys did it! Wahhh, wahhh!"

It seems like hardly a day goes by at the moment without something bizarre going on in the Tory party or even several things. Not only is there the Johnson/Sunak situation, there is the Mad Nads fallout, resignations of other MPs plus Braverman seemingly getting more batshit crazy by the day. If someone had made a film of all this a few years ago, it would have been panned by the critics for being way too far fetched and unrealistic. 😂😂😂 I do so hope more than anything that they all get their cumuppence in the next GE.

I wouldn't count on it, Dave. Latest opinion polls are still showing 28% for the Tories.
Just WHAT will it take???

For rags that purport to be Newspapers who push a certain narrative to be held to account. Unfortunately that will never happen.

"The Privileges Committee concludes Boris Johnson should have been suspended from the House for 90 days.

It says he deliberately misled the House, the Committee, impugned the Committee and was "complicit in the campaign of abuse and attempted intimidation of the Committee."

It adds "We recommend that he should not be entitled to a former Member's pass.""

We know that he's scum. We didn't know quite how utterly scummy he is though.

It is about as damning a report as it can get.

And Bojo is really throwing his toys out of the pram now.

Probably needs about 50 tories to support the report to stick the knife in for good.

Hopefully, this will be the end of his appearances in front line politics for good. Bugger off to your round of money-spinning after dinner talks (or mumbles?) in the USA you complete and utter bag of shyte.
