The Boris Johnson Thread

This - and nobody’s talking about the Looney Right. They’ve lost the plot and the country’s sleepwalking into a disaster. Eton boys making all the noise. I was no fan of Corbyn but this shower of shit......

It comes to something when Michael Howard thinks the Tory government is being unfair to the EU

You ain't seen nutin' yet, boys and girls. Wait till this shower of shyte government achieves it's number one objective of a no deal Brexit. Prepare for prices going through the roof, shortages of everything, firms closing down or relocating, massive shortages of labour in vital services, American companies taking over the NHS, the list goes on.
All the Brexidiots are going to get what they asked for, I just feel immensely sad for those of you who opposed it but who are going to get it anyway.
Still time to emigrate.....just.

As long as it remains free at the point of service I doubt anyone gives a shit who runs/owns/controls the NHS.

The idea that it's some sort of sacrosanct, untouchable pillar of British society utterly immune from any kind of reform or maximisation is one of its biggest problems.

You will get what you want, and I'll be laughing at you from my home here in Spain....

(Cue Brexidiot rant against Spain and all things European. Off you go, Captain Mainwaring.....)

For someone living in Spain, you don't half whinge a lot about how we should live and what we should do in the UK, get on with your wonderful life in sunny Spain, I'm glad things are so good for you, I really am.

Just why you would be laughing if brexit doesn't work out for the Uk ? I wouldn't be laughing if it affects badly the economy of Span, because it just might you know, smugness isn't a nice quality.

I take your point about smugness, I lost my rag with one of PS's Brexidiots and made an unwise post for which I apologise.
However, since I was born and brought up there, spent the first 60 years of my life there and still have family and many friends there, I still have an emotional investment in the UK and care very much what's happening there. So, hard luck pal, you're not going to stop me commenting on UK politics any time soon.

I don't think anyone with any sense would deny that the NHS needs reform and modernisation, but would think there are enough examples out there of what can wrong when we sell nationally funded institutions to private companies. The fear would be that it wouldn't remain free at the point of service for long (or the new owners would find another way to make us pay for it).

Flash lecturing on smugness is the modern definition of irony.

Hopefully Wales will get a first class NHS sooner rather than later but i doubt it under Drakeford and Labour. I personally dont think second rate socialist politicians should run a big business even though he was a lawyer fair play.

If healthcare is free at the point of use USA healthcare expertise might get us on track. I have private healthcare with my job but feel Welsh NHS could improve quickly if we had the correct people or organisations backing it .Sitting there chewing chorizo laughing at peoples possible misfortune because of a vote you lost say's it all.
Adios amigo.

In addition to all the above valid points, you are in the fortunate position where you are looking in from the outside and are able to offer a completely different international perspective which is not purely influence by the British media. Keep on posting!

What gives you the impression that I'm trying to stop you commenting on UK politics, after all this is forum, and everyone is entitled to a point of view, even if that opinion differs, it's just your constant childish name calling that irks me a little. but hey! you crack on.
