Captain Grimes on his way to Coventry City?

Why the bitterness?? Whatever his shortcomings as a player at least he spent nearly every minute of his time here on the pitch…can’t say the same for the vast majority of players.
We need to move on and we were never going to be able to while he remained the fulcrum of the team.
Some beauts on here honestly, been calling for his head for the last few months and now he’s moving on he’s the devil in disguise.
Good luck to the bloke, was never the greatest but an excellent servant he certainly was.

Spot on post

None of the past three seasons have been particularly great, and he's played nearly every minute. He must take his share of the blame, and we literally haven't tried anything else since relegation - the very definition of banging our heads against a wall. Of course, he doesn't have to leave for us to try something different, but now he's seemingly one foot out the door, maybe it's not the end of the world.

What I don't get is why we allow him to go, as we've allowed many others to go, without having cast iron guarantees of a replacement. In those other cases we haven't managed to get any replacements in, despite having irons in the fire.

And if reports are true of this Swedish guy, even if we get that over the line, he seems from his showreel to be a far more attacking player, also don't get why we would spunk all the Grimes money on one unknown quantity. None of this makes sense to me. But then if he wants out, we've seen at least three times, where blocking a player's move has not worked out.

Super post. Sometimes the time to move on seems right. We get some cash for an ageing player and a chance to refresh our midfield.

Still hope Franco sticks a huge tackle in on him should he play this weekend 🤣

Yep, just a shame it’s during January where deals are notoriously inflated and hard to get over the line

Because Franco takes the cdm slot. We will also save a small fortune on grimes wages which should free up another signing

Good servant, average player, let’s see how we look without him in the team, a lot of us have been asking for it for him to be dropped or rested to see how we look.
