I saw the video, I kinda have no debate point to cashless as such, I tend personally not to carry cash, but, I think it should be a choice, and as a business they could lose out on sales, wonder if they’ll take cash for season tickets?
Anyway, the video itself, I personally don’t think he was abusive?
Not for me to say whether he was right or wrong as a moral standpoint of his actions and beliefs, there is an argument that he “technically” didn’t pay for the mug and walked out leaving cash, but also I don’t know if there’s other videos, but the one I’ve seen, cuts off as he leaves the club shop, so the abuse could’ve taken place after the filming?
Seems it’s caused a big stir so it may actually cause the club to rethink their decision.

A re-think isn't needed.

Agree.

I remember when businesses stopped paying people in cash, there was a similar uproar.

The few shouldn’t hold back the many.

The move has left frustrated with many expressing their concerns with GB News

Says it all really.

State of the bloke from the video. Went in there hoping for something he could put online and get his 15 minutes from his fellow GB News watching morons. That's what we should be moaning about it, not the transition to going cashless.

Shops phased out cheques years ago and everyone seems to have survived?

You need to explain to me that how allowing people to pay by cash holds back anyone?

(For the record I rarely carry cash)

Any sensible business owner would have both options available, otherwise you are limiting the amount of customers you may have. Last time i passed Caereithin fish shop there was a notice in the window saying Cash only.

As you just posted, you hardly carry cash, which i would say is the same for the majority of people now. So then, why maintain two systems, which are have their own costs to run, when one system will work perfectly well. Progression, one fades out a new one takes it's place. Same for pretty much everything that get's replaced.

Looking at the club statement: 'The incident involved a member of the public verbally abusing a staff member and leaving the premises without paying via the correct procedure.:

Based on the video I have watched there was no abuse? The only words he uttered to the staff member at the club shop were 'no mate' in response to have you got a season ticket, and then he said 'here's your 8 quid, phone the police', just a guess but I would imagine judging by the tone of the male shop assistant who asked did he hold a season ticket, no abuse went on prior to the recording?

Silly I know, but verbally abusing a staff member?
