Does Anyone Really See An Improvement?

But it's probably worth rolling the dice. Unless there's some serious transfers in the next few days we're going down.

The only thing that might save us is plymouth being so far behind and derby's collapse

No.....if there was we might actually win a game or two, as it is I cant see where the next win or draw for that matter is coming from. It's a cluster fvck. Sorry to keep going on but it is what it is.
Just read the question properly, probably yes, maybe LW lost the dressing room, so yes, new broom and all that👍

It's not great and he is certainly looking like he is on his last legs.
I firmly believe between now and Monday is the biggest and most important thing that will define our season more so than getting rid of the manager.

The squad is weak and thin and can't be ignored.

I think we need to realise that we are 7 points from the dropzone, it's going to take those teams in the bottom 3 a good 7/8 games to make those points up. They say aim for 50 points but I think 46 points will do it this season meaning 4 wins will be enough......at this moment it doesn't feel like we can win 1! We are in a slump but we can just as easily pull through but we need 3/4 decent signings between now and Monday to help us out.

We’ve still got home games against Derby, Plymouth, Hull and Oxford, so plenty of opportunity to pick up the points we need. Big improvement needed though from anything we’ve produced in the last 5 weeks.

Great post.

Heading off, straight down the tunnel after shaking hands with Lampard, with boos ringing out, and leaving his player's to deal with the consequences speaks volumes.

This coward is getting closer to what he wants.
Pay him off and get him tae fuck.

Right now we have a squad that looks bereft of confidence.

Ronald used to be more than happy to take his man on over and over again even if he wasn't getting much change from him. Now he is hesitating at every opportunity that comes his way, two huge examples of that were when he was played in on an overload in the first half and dithered so long someone got back and pinched the ball of him as well as in the second half when he was basically through on goal but didn't feel confident to shoot and got his cut back across goal all wrong and ended up doing neither.

Even the passing game has zero confidence in it, rather than 1 touch quick ball to get past the press and then look to attack its all ponderous 2 touches, 3 touches, sometimes even more and always the simple ball because any other opportunity is gone. The players who would make runs to open up space and get it in the channels no longer bother because the pass never comes their way, theres only so many times a player will spin in behind a defender looking for the through ball or the chip over the top before they stop wasting their energy on a movement that will never be picked up.

When you look at the squad now compared to the squad when Williams came in there are not many changes in the personnel. Obviously Grimes just left but before that? Ronald was here and was our only winger of any note last season, Cullen, Allen, Fulton, Key, Tymon, Cabango and Darling were all ever presents. The only notable difference in personnel was Rushworth in goal instead of Vigouroux and Cundle who to be fair didn't exactly pull up trees in his time here.

Not only are the players short on confidence which is leading to one individual error after another (both goals today were again down to two individual errors) but the players out there do not look like players who are fighting for their manager knowing that he is under serious pressure and his job may be at stake.

Only my thoughts but it looks to me like he has lost the dressing room, a huge part of which in my opinion is players being pissed off with being asked to play out of position or playing to certain instructions which leads to them taking risks/making plays they usually wouldn't and then getting pelters from the fans (and sometimes the coach himself) when it leads to goals being conceded - this whole full backs coming into central midfield nonsense being a prime example of that.

We were conceding goal after goal from down the gaping holes in our flanks and it was never being addressed, that particular brainchild of Williams's should have been aborted long before it ever saw the light of day.

The old saying pal is... if nothing changes, things stay the same.
We simply have to roll the dice.
We can't die wondering.
Surely the first change will be players through the door Monday?

We were 4 points of Relegation at one point in March so there is still a few more games to see how the new signings go and if Williams can get the spark in the team with these new faces.

But we can't afford to go down to a 4 point gap in case it works. Williams is done. Nobody can doubt that.

The only spark that Williams will be finding with this squad is when someone finally has enough and sparks him out with a right hook.

We are in a perfect storm, player leaves who has dictated the style of play for the the last several years and we’re left with a manager who has no idea of what to do.
Factor in a squad of players who are bang average and we are in deep deep excretia.
