• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Don’t you think our players not taking chances would seriously affect the expected assists tally?
If we had Haaland and Salah up front, then yes our players would have strong assist figures as they would take more chances. But we don’t.
So why is he top of a list of expected assists in the league? It’s just nonsense. And it certainly isn’t accurate in anyway whatsoever.
Just offering an explanation as to why “expected” assists are so much better than actual assists. What constitutes a decent chance is subjective and indeed depends on the quality of your strikers. So, in that regard, I would agree that it might not necessarily be accurate

It's not that difficult to understand. Just like expected goals, expected assists are based on the probability of scoring from a given shot based on a number of factors, but distance from the goal and angle being the main ones. So if a striker fails to score from 5 yards out centrally then the expected goal figure and expected assist will be high. But if someone attempts to score from 35 yards the expected goal and expected assist for the pass will be very small.

So, the fact that Tymon has the best expected assists tally in the league indicates he's been delivering a lot of high quality opportunities, which have mainly been squandered. Anyone paying attention would have noticed that...

All that babble just equates to the fact that Tymon can put a decent cross in. I won't argue with that. But expected and assists are meaningless words in the context of football. Just modern day rubbish in my opinion.

Wycombe have signed another CB which might suggest they are resigned to losing Low.
Record signing too, which might imply the money for Low is quite substantial. I know we're in for him with a couple of other clubs, so not epecting us to outbid anyone tbh

Wycombe signing two CBs certainly suggests they are expecting to lose Lowe in this window.

Wycombe manager is favourite for the Luton job, wouldn’t surprise me if he gets the job and brings him along, won’t be much of a commute either.

Exactly. It’s a stat of crossing/passing accuracy into the box. If there’s no goal scored, there is no assist.
It’s possible a player at different club with the same crosses would have a higher expected assist rate if those crosses lead to goals.
