Starting a little early, but positive signs that we seem to be after strikers.

21 year old Max Watters from Crawley whose scored 13 goals this year.

26 year old Kasper Junker from Bodo Glimt who has scored 26 goals in their league season.

Neither of those fill me with any excitement it has to be said.

But then again it is teamtalk links which is the website equivalent of magicdaps10

from the little I have seen and read about Max Watters, I think he could be a decent shout...

i know it is just clips but looks a big lump, scores lots and links play well ... young too

feel it would be an astute signing

How much are they prepared to spend on a striker, if we knew that the speculating about players would make more sense

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was deal along the lines of a cash sum and an offer of Liam Cullen for 6 months. Feels like he needs a loan to kick on

Just for clarification, when you say "Max Watters from Crawley whose scored 13 goals this year" do you actually mean this year (which doesn't sound like a lot tbh) or do you mean this season (which sounds a lot better).

Let's be honest though Phil. How many of us had heard of Michu?

One of the points I hadn’t thought of is Brexit. We wouldn’t likely get a work permit for Junker under the new rules...

I had, I had followed his career since he was 19. I knew all his strengths, how he would fit into our side and it was me that first put forward his name as a potential signing but I let Laudrup take the credit as he needed a boost to start his career here.

Oh wait, no you're right I had never heard of him

I was actually believing that up until the Laudrup part. Kin ell.

Interesting point. The £25,000 pa wouldn’t be a problem but do footballers count as skilled workers? Maybe there’s an exception for the performing arts - actors, ballerinas etc.

It’s tied into their transfer fee and international pedigree. Not sure junker or Hooidonk would fit the bill

The Brexit thing means all players from outside the UK no longer come under the freedom to work in the UK rules and are classed the same as any other country. The same is true of UK players moving to EU clubs.
It's the FA rules that cause the problem because EU players are no longer protected and have to meet the overseas player rules.

He'd get a work permit, no problem, but is unlikely to get approval from the FA.
