Martin Southampton

The Silverstein thing smacks a bit of inexperience dealing with the public domain and fans wanting to hold ownership accountable for stuff going on and that same ownership not prepared for people to call them out when it goes badly.

How much truth there is to negotiations breaking down and the Southampton links is anyone's guess but either way it doesn't paint a great picture from the outside looking in.

Perhaps for a little balance you could list the longer list of players who have left and the profit made on player sales.

Not bothered about Soton.
However will watch with great interest how he does.
Who will he sign from us if he's given the cash from Ward Prowse sale?
Grimes, Piroe and Wood?

I knew the figure was in the low 20’s, but the names on here make even more startling reading. Not backed? Nah.

That’s our model.

So the Americans cancelled his visit last minute via email apparently.. clearly want the money from Southampton and have someone else lined up.

I have to think his perfect record against Cardiff means more to some fans than anything else. There's literally fans on Twitter crying about him going, talking about how he saved the club when he got here, most talented young manager in the league, etc.

It's weird, I could have sworn we'd been in the playoffs the previous two seasons rather than on the verge of going out of existence?

Look at Mark Robins record at Coventry. Every year he built and improved on the previous year. We’re never going to be a team who enjoys the instant success so many on here crave as we simply don’t have the funds. Luton are another example of how you can build a squad of players over years on a minimal budget. Everything RM has built this far (and there has been clear progress whether the twonks on here will admit it or not) is now about to be ripped up and we’re back to square one of a threadbare squad and small budget. If anyone thinks a new guy will bring instant success, you’re mistaken. All you impatient little rats will be calling for his head after 10 games no doubt.

🤣

He took us from 4th to 15th and back to 10th by abandoning all his principles after our worst run since Clement. Watch the play offs and ask yourself how inept a manager finishing 10th in this league with our players must be.

Dry your eyes mate. He would go to Soton whatever the (crap) owners do, done, did. Just like he f****d MK. If you’re looking for a rat…

I wouldn't be so sure they have anyone lined up!!

For his flaws, Winter is a football man and has contacts in the league and he seems to have been sidelined now. Without him it'll be interesting to see which route they go but I'm apprehensive.

Much remains written about us ending four points off the play offs and that had their been backing in January then "look at what could have been" but we also have to remember that in the middle of the January window we were slap bang in the middle of a run that I think yielded 4 wins from 24.

We missed the play offs because we were largely crap for half of the season, had we been anywhere near a play off team during that period then we would probably have ended with home advantageof the second leg of the play off as a minimum

It’s all a shit show isn’t it, the Muscat links randomly in March, investors who haven’t officially been announced, this Luton bloke who we are waiting for if Luton don’t get promotion, radio silence on Winter / Marsh apart from the new chairman putting out a pathetic statement, apparently he’s fucked off back to the US as well. Let the good times roll I say

Yeah, he’d never have gone to Soton otherwise. Oh, and he definitely didn’t interview with Soton instead of going to America. Definitely the yanks that cancelled by email. If he says it, it must be true. After all, he’d never bullshit to make himself look good. Never. 🤣🤣🤣
