Correct. If he’s not turned up for the QPR game then he needs to be disciplined before he walks into a match day squad. Nobody is bigger than the club, especially not some young upstart who is finding his way in the game.

That's a risky situation, if the player is saying things like 'not in right frame of mind', then it's not a huge leap to there being a mental health issue (real or invented), and if the club punish a player under those circumstances there could be trouble.

Its why players hold all the cards these days.

Aye, unlikely to go either up or down. Therefore now is the time to reinstall some guiding principles into daily club life. Say what you want about Martin, but if he’s planned a squad which involves the player, and said player has then gone AWOL, then Martin has every right to go radio rental.
