I disagree re Eom.
When he went through on goal, we needed a killer…. He was clearly thinking about the potential tackle rather than the goal.
His pressing game is awful too.
There’s a player there alright but he’s in a funk.
He should have done better there I agree, but I thought he did ok largely.

Edited to add - I’ve just watched the goals again and his first time assist for the second goal was wonderful,

Will somebody explain to this Compo from last of the summer wine what this stupid XG is?
im still living in a cold bicket of water and sponge world ffs ...what a load of rollocks.

That was more like our early games. Defensively near flawless, they will win on the 'XG' but it is just because of one tap in. Other than that, we barely let them into our box. Which is a good recovery from the last few games where our defence has opened up as our attack has toiled.

Like many of the early games, we are still too reliant on Vipotnik scoring every half/quarter/eighth chance he gets. What a hot streak he is on. We owe him a lot. They should charge to let us go to the training ground to watch him doing his finishing drills. He looked out of the door this summer so it is really nice to see him having this run.

Normal concerns remain with the lack of attacking threat. Like somebody else said, we were only average and they were awful. Good points on the board to give the side a breather and to continue to try and find solutions. We are only beating the worst teams in the league right now, but there are a lot worse habits you can get in to in this league.
It’s funny how people see different games because I didn’t think we looked all that solid defensively today. We were up against a terrible Norwich side but still were played through very easily. The goal was awful and Vigs needed to save us a couple of times.

More or less how many goals we'd score in probability, given the chances created etc.

Its just a stat to tell you a bit more about how the game went as opposed to just the score.

Vips xG was low today because he scored two goals where the probability of him scoring was low (Ie. Most players won't have scored from those positions). Their goalscorer would have had a high xG because the probability of him scoring an empty goal tap in was high.

Jeeze, Vipotnik picked the ball up from about 50 yards out. Does that count as an assist?

What we don’t know is who we missed out on in the summer. Maybe it’s the case that the inner sanctum are in agreement that we won’t really move forward until we can complete the squad overhaul. It’s a theory at least.
I've heard far worse theories, however we've no doubt shelled out big money this year

Yes, the Newcastle goalkeeper had an assist in the week , just for throwing the ball from his penalty area into the opposition half.

We’ve got a striker scoring goals out of almost nothing and on a real hot streak.
Did we ever take Joel Piroe or Jason Scotland off when they were on a hat trick?
Zan the man has got gears to go up given the chance IMHO.
I’m chuffed for him.

Anyone else notice one of our coaches run down the line and signal to Vig to go down? Vig looked at him and pointed to the ground, the coach gave him the affirmative and down he went 😂 all the rest of the outfield players then shot over to the manager to have a conflab. Apart from Tymon he stayed over the furthest touchline.
Aye, spotted that. Initially thought he was running down to tell one of the subs to come back but shouting at Vig. Seemed like he was giving him a bollocking but it soon became apparent what it was about. Not a fan of it tbh.

Piroe got taken off pretty much every time he was on a hat trick. In fact it seems to happen to every player to scores 2. It's now been 17 years since a Swans player scored a league hat trick.

Maybe we can’t afford the hat trick bonus payment 🙂

Chuffed we got the win and the 3pts even though we didn’t perform great, Norwich looked the worst team I’ve seen this season down here imo.

Don’t want to be negative but does anyone think we will pick any points up in our next 4 league games?

Swansea City 🦢 v Norwich 🐥
