The one thing I learnt today is never ever buy a player from Celtic again. Christ on a bike.
Celtic are poor and would struggle in the Championship, which alone should tell anyone that buying players from Celtic isn't a good idea

He looks like he has just taken out several season's worth of suppressed rage on that poor ball

We could literally build a side around Ethan Galbraith; he's that good. Unfortunately, the cat is out of the bag: Premiership ahoy for EG. 😎
As good as Galbraith has been do you seriously think he is Premier League quality?

That was more like our early games. Defensively near flawless, they will win on the 'XG' but it is just because of one tap in. Other than that, we barely let them into our box. Which is a good recovery from the last few games where our defence has opened up as our attack has toiled.

Like many of the early games, we are still too reliant on Vipotnik scoring every half/quarter/eighth chance he gets. What a hot streak he is on. We owe him a lot. They should charge to let us go to the training ground to watch him doing his finishing drills. He looked out of the door this summer so it is really nice to see him having this run.

Normal concerns remain with the lack of attacking threat. Like somebody else said, we were only average and they were awful. Good points on the board to give the side a breather and to continue to try and find solutions. We are only beating the worst teams in the league right now, but there are a lot worse habits you can get in to in this league.

An improved performance but Vip has pulled us right out of the shit with 2 wonder goals.
Ronald in the first 20mins is what I expect/demand on a permanent basis. Loved seeing him burst forward at pace!
Widdel has to start, a nuisance with clear quality.
Stamenic much better today.
Stamenic was better because our changed formation made it far less crowded in midfield and linked front and back more successfully.

That helped Stamenic and Galbraith as they had space to move and find room, helped Vipotnik and helped the wide players. Eom found a through ball a few times. They didn’t all come off as a few were intercepted but the intent was obvious.

We need to stick with this formation (it’s the Brendan formation) and try Widell instead of Cullen at 10 as he has looked creative in the last two games and Cullen is not offering much at present.

I think Eom played better than people are giving him credit for btw.

spectacularly missing the point.

We created fuck all again. It's not sustainable and not good enough.

I don't had understand why that can't be accepted but still be happy about winning ffs
We scored twice, hit the inside of the post and there were a few times where a potentially great through ball just missed out or was intercepted.

The past few games have been woeful but today was a lot brighter.

I'm not missing any point, I was asking when is XG correct (because IMO it's total bolloks)

I am not doubting we didn't create fuck all an I agree that is not sustainable.

I also agree with your final point, I just don't see XG as a worthy stat (there are many other unworthy stats).

I disagree re Eom.
When he went through on goal, we needed a killer…. He was clearly thinking about the potential tackle rather than the goal.
His pressing game is awful too.
There’s a player there alright but he’s in a funk.

Swansea City 🦢 v Norwich 🐥
