Idah had two great chances to score and failed to make the keeper work with either. He's looking a bit duff at the moment.
Maybe he needs a full season and then a coach announcement that Cullen is ahead of him in the packing order

Idah stretching for the ball when he had his back to goal and getting in the way of Vip, who had a clear shooting opportunity, didn’t impress me at all. It’s one thing to be desperate to get on the scoresheet but you play for the team.

The VIP penalty appeal gets no less obvious every time I see it
Even if the refs view was blocked (it shouldn’t have been) then I’ve no idea how the assistant has missed that. He’s got the same angle as 100s in the ground and it was obvious that Vipotnik was pulled back.

Not the only reason we lost but I’d say that’s as blatant a pen that you’re going to see not given all season.

Edit: We didn’t lose 😂

I think bringing on Idah alongside Vip was a bad move as likening the team wanting Dyer to get his hatrick all those years ago they wanted to get him ( Idah ) involved in a goal and Vip sorted drifted out of the firing line whereas what we needed was Vip in the 6 yard box.

Not saying that VIP is out penalty taker or that we would have scored if it was given, but officials have denied him a perfectly good goal last week and a clear cut penalty this week

We didnt lose.

Positives

1) VIP looks to have some real class about him. He is making us look better going forward than we are with his finishing in the box on absolute scraps
2) Inoussa. Not enough end product but there is something there.
3) We look defensively organised and solid.

Negatives
1) We do not create enough and this is a regular thing now.
2) Yalcouye does not offer enough on the ball to separate him from Franco and our midfielders are all too similar. I do not know if Widell is the answer but he needs to be tried.
3) We have not played well against a good side this season and our schedule so far has been very generous to us.
4) Why are we not trying new things? Two subs today was inexscusable. If we are trying to find solutions and we fail I will be much more forgiving.

Question Marks
1) Early days with Idah so I am not going to overreact. But it does not look great right now. He does not look in great shape and considering the cost, it looks like a huge gamble.
2) Key. He has struggled so far this season and if you are being harsh, looks like the weakness in the back 5 players.

Cullen clearly isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and has his limitations but if we’re going to a front 2 I’d think he’d be far better as the second striker linking up play as seen in the short period against Forest.

No managers get subs right every time but unfortunately I think that’s 3 league games on the trot where they’ve been puzzling at best.

The refs have not been great, but they never are. This is just performative to deflect from the current performances.

Why did we not use more subs?
Sheehan wears his heart on his sleeve. What makes you think he’d pretend to be angry with the ref just to deflect attention? Would be completely out of character.

In what way has our schedule been generous? That's a horrendous shout

Absolute dross.

No incision, no invention, no risk taking in the final third. Hesitant, ponderous. It's like having Martin back
It’s nothing like Martin’s brand of football. Or Williams’. But there were too many times when we passed the ball backwards and allowed Millwall to regroup. Particularly Ronald.
