S25/26| The Official Match Thread | Derby 2 Swansea 0 | Att: 27,841 | 14/02/26 | The EFL Championship | Pride Park Stadium

Not going to read this, it’ll be the usual overreaction from the Match Day thread heroes. We’ll have been shit, should be beating teams like this, Cullen killed puppies, etc etc.

Uppafuckingswans.
That's it for me now, I didn't know Cullen was a puppy killer.

Clearly over sensitive otherwise you wouldn't be going on about it 👌

Saying that, I have been called a bully and then the same person questioned my personal life!
I'm certainly sensitive about that post because it's personal.
Ok, fair enough, I probably over-reacted, and went a bit over the top. If so I apologise, but the antagonism on here gets to me on occasions. Maybe a truce between you two?

Football seems to have fallen out with the classic Nr10. I still think it’s what we’re missing. Someone to thread balls through to Vip.

100% No10 isn't a thing anymore in the traditional sense of the word it's now just a version of either second strikers or box crashing 8s.

In all fairness aswell that's not Vips game he isn't someone that's going run in behind and play for a through ball nor is he the type to get on the end of a cross from a wide position in settled possession.

Every time I see a game like this, I think the same. We aren’t physical enough!
I am always conflicted with the physical side of the game. Yes they were bigger than us and even Cabango was bullied today. But players like Britton, Dyer, Allen and many others showed that if your smart enough with play there a ways around it. I think Yalcouye should 9f started today irrelevant of his physical side as he would of been more creative than Cullen. Seems Matos doesn't seem convinced on Yalcouye as a starter. Our issue today was we didn't take our chances and messed around too much. The game was there to be won. We just didn't want it enough.

The ref let them off multiple times, their no29 hacked down Ronald (twice) and Franco in the 1st half and then another worthy of yellow in 2nd but no card issued and surprisingly he was subbed shortly afterwards. Our attack wasn't at the races today but the ref was terrible, also they took several free kicks 10 or 15 yards further up the pitch and kicked the ball away with no reaction from the ref. We made poor decisions in the final 3rd and Vip barely got a touch, onwards

Another similar thread since Stoke away! I did think today especially the first 45 we looked in control and just lacked in the final third! I still think we to nice of a team and will let the opposition trample all over us and take the points where ever if its deserved or not.

Just back.. questionable starting line up with wide players making poor decisions with no creativity and Cullen selection as a starter continues to baffle me.

Poor defensive marking yet again from wide areas combined with being bullied unravelling us again.

We did restrict them to very little in open play also we created very little.

Loads of possession with Ronald, Eom and Cullen doing almost nothing in attack.
We’ve had quite a few of these days.
I hate slagging players but if we have play off hopes, it’s not good enough.

Yeah, it’s a very familiar story. Franco, Tymon and VIP have been our main outlets lately. Ronald had an assist last week and Cullen got a rare goal a couple of weeks ago, but none of our wingers or 10s are prolific. Widdel helps us defend from the front better with his energy, but he’s not creating either.

Someone mentioned the total goals from our attack (minus Vip) earlier and it’s on par with what a good CB would get from set pieces in a season. It’s an area we have to improve on, but I think it needs new players. Eom possibly has potential. At least he can beat a man. He’s just got to work on the passing bit now 🤣

Honestly…some of you need help, talk about an overreaction, we played well today , we lost get over it but some of the reactions are pathetic.

It’s the same issue, but we’re getting closer. Matos is getting this team playing better than the sum of their parts. We just need that better decision making/execution around the box. And obviously cut out mistakes at the back, but we don’t tend to be too bad there. It’s not making the most of our attacking opportunities that’s the killer - we get into so many good positions. It’s a good platform to build on and we’re miles ahead of where we were under Sheehan, so a lot to be positive about.
