Any win up there is a good result, always tricky.

Had to come off the Matchday thread as it appears my stream was a few minutes behind!! story of my Lile! :D

Same. Apparently I predicted a goal was coming after we scored! :)

COOPER PRAISES "BRILLIANT" FORM OF SWANSEA CITY CAPTAIN MATT GRIMES

Source: Swansea Official Site

Steve Cooper hailed the “brilliant” all-round performance of Matt Grimes as the Swansea City captain continued his fine form with a superb goal in the win at Rotherham.

Grimes took his tally for the season to four as he smashed home a low swerving striker after the Millers had failed to deal with a corner.

It followed on the back of his brace in the FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest, while Grimes had also netted in the reverse fixture against Rotherham at the Liberty.

But it is not just his goalscoring exploits that are delighting head coach Cooper, who believes the midfielder is in the best form he has been in since his appointment as Swans boss.

“I think Grimesy is in the best form he has been in since I have been here, and I am happy to go on the record and give him that praise because he has been brilliant over the last few months,” said Cooper.

“He has been a real captain, showing both sides of the game and excelling at them.

“He is getting goals, and he should be because he is a great technician.

“But his all-round performance is excellent, we will keep pushing him to improve but he deserves recognition because he is playing really, really well at the moment.”

WE SHOWED OUR QUALITIES ON THE ROAD, SAYS MARC GUEHI

Marc Guehi paid tribute to another Swansea City performance packed with resilience and commitment following a 3-1 win at in-form Rotherham United.

Stunning goals from Aston Villa loanee Conor Hourihane – his second in as many games – and Matt Grimes put the Swans in a commanding 2-0 half-time lead in Yorkshire, before sub Jay Fulton scored with just his second touch to seal the win after Freddie Ladapo pulled one back for the Millers.

Victory moved the Swans to within four points of leaders Norwich City – who visit the Liberty on Friday night – as Steve Cooper’s side retained second place.

It proved an effective performance from the Swans, who stretched their unbeaten run to nine matches, as they saw off a Rotherham side who had won at Derby and Middlesbrough on top of a 3-3 draw with Stoke in their last three games.

And Guehi, who made his 23rd appearance of the league campaign, was delighted with the Swans’ efforts in their latest outing.

“They had been on a good run and we knew it was going to be a tough game,” said the 20-year-old Chelsea loanee.

“We did well to control the tempo of the game. Our goals in the first half came via two great strikes from Conor and Grimesy, and after the break we knew they would come at us.

“We showed great resilience in defending and good commitment too, not just from the boys at the back but the lads further up the pitch. We were expecting them to be pretty direct, but we showed our qualities to combat that.

“Overall, it was a good performance and three very pleasing points.”

Although Ayew has lost his scoring touch and is getting increasing criticism from fans, seeing his contribution to the build up to the third goal explains why Cooper is keeping faith with him. Sheer class.

They did him proud, I hope he and his family are happy.

Take care Leo.

I know his father well. Team didn't let them down.

That whole story really touched me yesterday, I have nothing but admiration, empathy and sympathy for the people who go through that kind of thing - it puts everything in perspective for me

Absolutely. As KOL said at the time, Andre showed a little patience instead of the panic football that had been going on around him. Hold the ball until you can play the right pass and he did just that which completely opened up the less populated other half of the pitch for us to play in.
