Second wave

I went to local Tesco today. They have just given up on any safety aspects.
No trolleys cleaned anymore.
No social distancing in store.
Just one hand gel left in the foyer for people to gel their hands going in, if they want to do it.
No gel on the way out.

Local pubs last weekend were ram packed outside, people pi££Ed, no social distancing whatsoever.

So yes, there will be a second wave very soon.

Why spend 4 months being careful then forgetting all about it?

Fcking idiots.

Couldnt agree more.
Seems we had a lockdown now we've utterly let it go. Until next time. This is bad bad bad.

People eh

This will be the way of it for a while. There will be local spikes and increases in cases all over. Ironically the countries which locked down harder and faster may see more as fewer people would have been exposed initially. Remains to be seen if what happens abroad will happen here.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the UK, could be the case that we were later locking down that we may not see the numbers in spikes to those who locked down earlier.

Agree that it would be silly to consider booking a holiday abroad as it stands.

I love my travelling but this virus has killed the love stone dead.

There is no point at all in being herded like sheep in airports, planes and then having to enter a beach via traffic lights when space is available.

No point,to me,in sitting in a bar drinking San Miguel/Sagres for 2euros a pint and paying £20 for a meal for 2 ,when social distancing makes the very reason we go out for a meal, utterly meaningless.

I can see the Tourism industry in Spain,Portugal and Italy, collapsing completely and see only darkness as this virus will not go away, people will not distance, will not keep hygienic and will not act sensible ,especially when they have a drink.

Yet-Johnson opens the pubs assuming the public will be sensible.,at a time when it is clearly not safe or advisable to do so.

And some wont wear a mask!

All's not lost, get yourself down the Gower or West Wales, had one of my best holidays home or abroad up in Rhosneigr on Anglesey a few years ago, just me the misses and the dogs...

Holidays abroad with no restrictions will be back, not this year, and maybe not next, but will be back.

Unfortunately it is people and their lack of understanding and changing of their ways that will help bring the second wave on.
The world and the way we live has changed but too many will not accept the changes needed to stop this virus.

You only have to see the stupidity and ignorance on here to understand that this is going to be around for a long time to come.

I don't believe this second wave one bit, just looking at the worldodometer site, and there are no figures yet for today for Spain, so I look back to yesterday, 2,255 new infections, and 3 death..

These positive testing figures regardless of country, tbf, mean absolutely ferk all.. Look at uk today +767 new cases, and 61 deaths..

These are new cases every day, as well as the existing ones

Indeed...

A number in the SA area the past 48hrs too...

As an aside, walked my dogs up past Noah's yard at around 8 o'clock, bedlam, absolutely no social distancing, and not a fuck given by anyone 👍🏻

Those arriving in the UK from Spain after midnight tonight have to self isolate for two weeks. Another blow to the travel industry.

How do you mean? my take on the figure is that these are new cases reported in the last 24 hours?

I think like most others I am terrified at the prospect of a second wave and have grave concerns at the way Johnson is loosening things. One morning he said they couldnt let cricket commence due to teas and issues with the ball only for everything to change by the afternoon.

Some of the figures in Wales over the last few days have been a bit misleading. There had been a delay in reporting figures from the English lighthouse labs and so some of this is catch up. However the figures are still higher than we would all like.

Over the last month or so over 1/2 the new cases have been due to the outbreaks in 3 food plants. There have been over 200 new cases at the 2 sisters plant in Llangefni, over 300 at Rowan Foods in Wrexham and over 100 cases in the Kepak plant in Merthyr. Whilst the cases in Angelsey and Merthyr has settled Wrexham remains a problem. Of the 30 new cases today 11 were in Wrexham and 4 in neighbouring Flintshire.
