Ive looked at the form table for the last 10 games. We are 5th, a win against Birmingham, which we deserved and we would be 2nd over 10 games.

For me this shows we have come a long way and to continue with this form for the rest of the season should see us easily avoid relegation and push to the top half.

Let’s hope we can continue this form.

8th in form table last five, 5th in last ten.

Matos has taking the shackles off the players and is doing a job in line with the squad we have, if not over achieving a bit as we should be around 10th - 13th in my opinion considering the surgery the squad needed in the summer. Injuries are starting to take it's toll now however and with two games I don't expect us getting much so the knives will be out no doubt.

Why have we still got people talking about relegation? The differences in our performances under Sheehan and Matos are like night and day, and this is before he’s had the ability to swap one or two via a transfer window.

Because until last night we were only 6 points off relegation.
Like you, I agree the difference is night and day, and we are much better.
The fact is though we were closer to relegation than top half.
My post is actually pointing out the positive fact that continuing like we are will see us in the top half

There's a lot of chat about this squad 'only' being good enough for somewhere around midtable, but I'm not sure I agree. I definitely don't think we're good enough to fly out of the league or anything, but when you look at our best eleven and compare it with almost any team in the league, I'm certainly not seeing a noticable difference.

Looking at the top of the league - Ipswich have the best squad in the league and will very likely go back up. Coventry have an awful lot of goals and a good midfield (not a Grimes debate), but the defence features Jack Bidwell and some ho-hum centre-halves. Otherwise, there isn't a play-off chasing side who I think are better than us man for man.

Millwall, Hull, Stoke, Watford are all pretty ordinary sides propped up with a lot of solid Championship journeymen and the odd star man. I think you could make an argument that aside from Ronald and maybe Cabango (some would say Burgess too, but I like him), every player is individually one of the best in the league for their position.

Admittedly I'm more confident of saying this about some players (Galbraith, Vigs, Tymon, Vipotnik) than others (Eom, Stamenic, Widdell), but I would argue that case for a solid 9 or 10 of the lads being more than good enough for a promotion push

I'll breathe easier when we hit 50 points. Things are going well at the moment, Vic Tomatoes is doing an unbelievable job, but football is football and things can soon turn back to shyte with a bit of bad luck. What is noticeably different in Vic's approach is using the whole squad, both in terms of rotation of starting 11 and use of many subs in a match to keep things fresh. Contrast that with Sheehan and Swedehead, when certain players never got a look in and were obviously demotivated.

My memory is awful but we came into the season without our mainstay Grimes, who O'Brien to be fair replaced brilliantly but only temporarily, one centre back, had to shift a ton of deadwood from the Watson era like Yates, Myko, Tjoe, Bianchini as well as losing Allen and Naughton who were big leaders around the place.

The likes of Widdel and Inoussa were going to take time to settle, the former now seems to be a big part of Vitor's thinking, it's the second tier of football in the country and it's unrealistic to think we would be contending for play offs after one window of upheaval. Can see now a proper plan on the pitch with Matos and with more players to come in suited to him in the summer, aswell as the ones we already have here after a year of integrating into team i see us being comfortable top half next season with a view of maybe having a look at play offs.

I also think, reading the reviews from Falkirk anyway, that Lissah will be like a new signing next year and could be a starter in what has been a problem position for us lately. Things looking up, for me anyway.

I thought Inoussa looked a promising buy in the first 5/10 games of the season. He was having an impact from the bench and looked sharp and skillful.

Hes not really kicked on at all

He’s probably the only player I think has gone backwards under Matos
For the first 20 mins when he started against Man C, I thought we could have a good player here. He looked quick decisive, and was worrying their defence.
Like now, it didn’t last for long.
Perhaps VT has got a handle on it, as he wasn’t in the squad last night.
I’m hoping it’s just a case of a young lad trying to adapt to a new country and culture.

Its hard to believe that if we go on a bit of a run we could be near or in the play off positions, but also if we are honest and realistic, looking at last nights game, if it wasnt against a poor Rovers side, things could have been a bit different.....so as they say, take nothing for granted yet, its not all over till the fat lady sings.......are we politically allowed to say that?

My comment wasn’t aimed at you specifically, more of a sweeping response to what I read on here, hear at the .com, chat about in work.

No worries, that was me starting to become defensive about my posts and donning my keyboard warrior shield and sword 🤣🤣
Apologies 🙏

For home form over the last 5 games must be close to top. 13 out of 15 and 16 out of 18 last 6. He’s made attending so much more appealing.

As to relegation, come back when we’ve won 5 more games. In this division anything can happen at the death. SW are doomed, and I’d bet on Oxford and Blackburn to join them from seeing them on the pitch.

I reckon we won’t actually be that far from 6th at the finish, but I’m taking nothing for granted. I half expect us to do Hull on Saturday, and that’ll be a test of where we are. The teams in top 6 from Coventry down are no great shakes at all.
