• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

We won't get the chance to have a look at him on the weekend in the final friendly unfortunately based on the above, but sounds like he should be fit and fresh to go for Middlesboro

If the Swedish kid bid comes off and we can get Ginnelly back into working order then we just need to sign a central defender (and keep Pedersen as 2nd cover) and we will have what on paper looks like a pretty damned good squad.
I’d get rid of Pederson and have Lissah as cover

Not true about conway.

Not true about only looking at loans.
Just calm yourselves ladies and gents. Of course we’ll have loans but we wanted a striker and they delivered one that was hawked around europe. Huge coup. And for free with resources now kept back for other important positions.

May the good feelings continue.

Erm because the owners haven't just arrived, see last summer for a prime example of terrible signings & loads of money wasted which is causing us a major issue now.
They don't have to spend stupid money but have to spend it far better.
If you look at my posts in this thread I haven't criticised the 3 new signings just the large number of players out & failure to address obvious gaps in the squad.
Season starts next weekend & we haven't got a striker worthy of the name.

"What I do want is to see them spend the money we have got wisely & that they clearly haven't done."

I'd say the 4 new signings have been extremely sensibly bought. As for the players out, I have no complaints, the squad was overloaded with dross, and I believe we'll get at least another two in.

Just have to wait until the end of August to see how much we have strengthened or if LW has been thrown under the bus.

We know neither at the moment for sure.
Absolutely this. There’s a bit of re-writing history going on in this thread. People weren’t complaining that we were signing players last summer. The mood was positive. The complaints started when those players didn’t deliver and weren’t played.

We have no idea how the new signings will go. And even if they’re upgrades individually, we’ve no idea if we’ll be a good unit. Our lack of team cohesion hamstrung us last year.

It looks to me like we’re weaker individually at this point in time, but there’s still time.

Well we've signed two internationals, and two players with actual pedigree in their respective leagues, a CB and Attacking midfielder in the same Data sheet could become beneficial after all

I hope the 4 signings work out as well, Vipotnik looks like a good one.
Yes the squad was overloaded with dross because of previous terrible decisions by our owners (or at least the recruitment team they put in place).
I think we need more than 2, we're on our way to having a decent starting 11 but still a weak bench

If we're being serious this season, we need a CB worthy of the name, i don't know if they're relying on Pedersen to be that man, but a partnership of Cabango and Darling is asking for trouble in this division.. we all saw after 14 minutes in the friendly how a half decent team ripped us to shreds

Well happy with it, don't get me wrong, but surely given the amount of suitors we have more than likely slipped a substantial amount of money into his pocket as a "signing on bonus"? Im not talking astronomical amounts but maybe high 6 figures/low seven?

Essentially I'd just be surprised if we didn't at least dent some of our budget with this one

Yes, Vipotnik had other options, this surely has a hint of Ayew / Gomis 'free' agent signings.
