I can understand not signing a striker in this window when looking at the big picture, but we really are just crossing our fingers and hoping Vipotnik doesn't get injured until Idah is back (March?), and that's not a reassuring scenario to be in.

Yeah, it’s one of those that might work out fine but there’s always that risk in the background. That’s why Bobby Wales going may not be the best move. If the loan is to give him first team minutes ready for next season, why not test him as second striker over this period? I get that he’d just be shelved as soon as Idah comes back but that would only be for the last few games of the season.

Huddersfield are apparently also going for Hardie from Wrexham, competing against Bolton. Hopefully if they sign both that doesn't mean Wales substitutes the Swansea bench for the Huddersfield bench.

I think it's quite telling that we are moving in the right direction that everyone is fairly relaxed about the window. We are in the sort of league position that had everyone in hysterics last season. I'm guessing everyone is expecting us to pick up the 15 or so points we need to stay up.

My nagging concern is that we have absolutely nothing up front if Vipotnik gets injured or goes off the boil. I suppose we'll just have to hope and pray that if that does happen we'll have enough points to limp over the line with Cullen/Widell playing there.

If Idah is out for another 2 months, by the time he's up and running the season will be ending.

That said, I am glad we aren't spending money on a poor back up option at this juncture. I think we need to get to the summer and see what's what, especially given the fact we'll probably be looking to replace Vipotnik.

I feel for Newport fans, looks like they are clearing decks ready for the National League, going down with a whimper.
