• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Read this morning that it was between us and Brum for Benson. Guess we'll find out later if it was us.

Missed all the fun today, so trying to catch up...so Idah is the only one confirmed/official at this point, but Benson from Burnley and a former Chelsea LB on loan are strongly rumoured? Is that about it?
Plus Cooper, Cotteril and Lissah loaned out, and Vipotnik still with us.

Interesting post on Vital Swans: we have the second highest net spend in the Championship this transfer window, at -£11.85m. Only Wrexham have spent more (net) at -£34.1m. As the poster says, we must have some serious commercial deals lined up to be OK with FFP. Overall we are sixth in the table for spend, behind Ipswich, Southampton, Wrexham, Boro and Norwich.

Given so many transfers are usually written as undisclosed creating a table of spend is often so hit and miss its not real. The spend for ours feels about right but its certainly not (I dont believe) outlay of that amount at the moment but spread over time. With other spends then it is potentially driven by what was announced and what has been assumed as "fact" over time

We have had a good window but feels as if we have gone about it in in a structured manner unlike Wrexham who feel as if they have just gone all Championship Manager on their window

Of course the results on the pitch will prove whether it was a good window or not but this feels good and even more so if those last two deals are confirmed today

Ok, I am assuming that the LB and Benson will get done but it's strange how no announcement has been made yet.

Guessing the work on Benson going to the wire is the reason....long day, got it done, off to bed and get all announcements done the next day.

This summer's spend though, surely there is incoming money for us to spend what we have this summer?
They must have something lined up.
It's easy to congratulate them on the window, it would be deserved congratulations but the money involved has helped.

If this is us punching above our weight then surely if we get up to weight then we become serious punchers in the category!?
Trying to make a bit of sense to it all.

It's good we're sweeping away the past 5 years of dreary boring football and bringing in players who can play an expansive game with pace.

Tom Coleman saying we’re waiting to find out about the Benson move, looks like Samuels-Smith is more definite.

Great, considered article as always.

I think I'd even edge towards a 9/10 for the window if we get these last two over the line.

As always can't really judge the incoming players until the end of the season but I'm not sure much more could have been done off the pitch in terms of profile of player and position. Getting a centre forward in for some of pre-season and the first 4 league games is the only thing I could possibly criticise - albiet I'd rather we get the right player in now (hopefully we have seeing as he's on a 5-year deal)
