To be fair, 61 goals in 148 games is almost a goal every 2 games. That used to be the marker for a "world class" goalscorer, until Messi, Ronaldo and now Haaland made it look easy. If we could create 3 chances a game for Vipotnik, I reckon he'd take at least one of them because his strike rate...

    Williams out

I was looking at his Wikipedia page the other day and it's quite amusing to see how defensively poor his teams have been. He's managed 244 games in his career so far and his teams have scored 358 goals. That's not bad, an average of pretty much 1.5 goals per game. However, his teams have also...

So those players aren't so bad after all? People on here were raving about Vipotnik, Eom and Bianchini when they signed, saying we should be able to make the playoffs with the squad we'd assembled. Placheta joined in February so he wasn't at the club when Duff was in charge. And Patino was...

I posted earlier that Vipotnik had 9 touches today in 78 minutes on the pitch, 1 of those was a defensive header to clear a corner. Against Sheffield Wednesday he had 14 touches in 86 minutes. Against Blackburn it was 3 touches in 25 minutes. That's just the last few games but it's a recurring...

Just me being pedantic, sorry lol. When we first got promoted to the Premier League, did we have the 11th best squad in the country on paper? Or did we have a manager who was able to coach the players so the team was better than the sum of its parts? There's been plenty of examples of this...

Nope, Duff was W4 D3 L5, Williams is W3 D4 L5. Nobody's saying Duff was better than Williams, just that Williams is being excused of any blame whereas Duff was solely responsible for the poor start to last season. Now, apparently, we should just accept that we're going to be in a relegation...

If only there was a way they could work with each other between games to practice shooting, patterns of play and positioning of teammates, some sort of "training" if you will

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea 0 Millwall 1 | The EFL Championship

Presumably, taking Vipotnik off was a fitness based decision? Because he played 78 minutes and touched the ball 9 times so how could he have not been fit to play the full 90 when he was hardly involved in the game? Sheer madness to not have a recognised striker on the pitch when we were...

He's got an under 23 squad at his disposal that scores goals for fun, it's his decision not to use some of them in the first team

The guy who's currently sitting in the playoffs with Huddersfield? I'm not saying Duff was any good but there's really not much between him and Williams in terms of their abilities. The Championship is too high a level for both of them

I'm really struggling to see exactly what Williams brings to the club, apart from excuses. If the narrative now is that the squad is terrible so we shouldn't expect much then we might as well have kept Duff, I don't think we'd be any worse off than we are now. One sub on 65 minutes and another...

Franco centre stage in the programme

It's the problem when CM is one of the positions on Williams' "substitutions by numbers" card and Grimes never gets subbed so it's always whoever is playing alongside him that gets taken off on 65 minutes

Franco centre stage in the programme

Which is even more baffling when you think we tend to have the ball for the majority of games and we hardly play at a breakneck speed

I'll believe that when I see him pass the ball straight to the advertising boards :ROFLMAO:

Yet another goal for Nzingo. He's too good for that level and he's 20 next week, get him involved with the first team squad

We're 15th at the moment (as Hull and Millwall are both winning), 4 points above the relegation zone. I keep reading "if we had better attackers we'd be in the playoffs" but equally, if we didn't have Vigouroux in such brilliant form we'd be in the relegation zone, it cuts both ways. People...

Makes me wonder what they do in training (other than pass it to Grimes), are the players not following instructions or are they not being given any instructions in the first place? Because neither of those reflect well on the coaching staff

This is another common theme that annoys me, whenever we get a throw in there's nobody moving or looking to receive the ball. That's as basic as it gets, you get coached that sort of thing at park level football. Why do our players always look so clueless and devoid of ideas?
