So why has our twat of a manager picked sorrynola ahead of Congreve

Because he played for him at MK Dons and he brought him in as a loan player.

Just an observation regarding Martin. We don't know, we will never know, exactly what his contract says. It is not uncommon for sports contracts to include efficiency measures, it is the rule in the US. So he may have contract for 3 (?) years, but it is entirely possible that if the results are bad enough he can be dismissed; sorry "leave by mutual consent".

You're right there I think, but taking on board other responses on this thread to your post, we probably won't sack him because we'll have to pay up his term. However there surely must be metrics in his scorecard otherwise how do Martin's employers determine whether he's been a success? If he's failing to perform there could be a contractual out.

He’s planning ahead for the league we’ll be in next season. League 1 team in the making. All about the preparation. Genius.

Oh well, I've been back for about an hour, settled and just about to catch up on the post match threads .
So before I do.

How can a performance come up short of anything that resembles the basics required to compete in a football match.

Luton were hard working but not much else, but we're slightly better of two poor teams.

Coming away from the ground and the journey home it was strange, didn't feel any anger as although we travelled in hope, early on the pattern of the game showed the inevitable outcome.

All the talk was about frustration of how many things were wrong today.

The players looked as if they'd never met each other before, and looked relegation certainty

I've used the phrase enough times so will just end with it again

We are playing robotic football, but the programming is wrong.

There was so much wrong today it was not real

Manning on the right, Sorinola on the left then our two at the back formation for large periods of the second half.

Piroe seemingly not interested (he was not alone) the heads dropped, the manager ranted, the defence looks lost and even at 2-0 down with two minutes to go we are tapping the bloody ball about at the back with little effort to get forward

This is not the Swansea Way unless its been reinvented to be a shite version of what it used to be

I wasn’t and am not angry or gutted. Unusual; Mrs M can’t understand why I’m not impossibly grumpy and miserable. It’s because we were never at the races. Luton monstered us and we showed no desire to change anything, so once they scored we were never getting anything. Deserved nothing, got nothing, going nowhere.

Things were glaringly missing, could list so many things, but it sums up to nothing can be taken from the performance. Apart from a bit from Joe Allen, and the effort from Congreve and Cooper when they came on.
Already booked our Birmingham tickets, but for everything that I can say about today and the continuing downward spiral, one thing hurts the most.

I don't really want to go to matches, I can be bored much more cheaply.

why when naughton came on he played him on the left and manning on the right?

Think Brendan may become available soon, but can't see us affording him . . . . Sigh
