Looks like we could have used several more weeks of pre-season... hopefully it won't take so long to get match fit. Rotherham definately looked the part of a newly promoted side. Granted some dodgy Referee choices did them all the favours.

Onwards and upwards.

Well after a positive first half a disappointing second half.

We need a right back and the midfield balance is wrong.

Plus I just don’t get the lack of urgency. 3 points now is the same as 3 points in March. Most will beat Rotherham. I really don’t want to hear from Martin that the performance was excellent.

Btw - that player they have that supposedly wanted to come to us was the best player on the pitch by some distance.

Funnily enough I thought we were better in the second half. First 10 mins of game aside at least.

Looks very much like more of the same on first viewing.

Ogbene does look a player though.

Sorinola hasn't been as bad as people have made him out to be in preseason.
Could he offer more? Yes
Has he been a liability? No

He looked like he did in the friendlies to me. Levels below the required standard, hopefully he’ll improve.

Won't use those kodi things - very dangerous for your security.

Did you? My view may have been influenced by the stream being worse to be honest.

Does look like largely more of the same though.

Sigh.

I didn't notice any significant differences from last season either. The things we were poor at last season which needed addressing before today, are more or less still there but with different personnel. Same picture in a different frame. Hopefully, Joe and Ben can make a difference but if they're hamstrung by RM's instructions, their impact may be limited.

Must admit I was hoping for something more. Early days though, will see where we are after the window closes.

We do have a nice run of early fixtures. I'm hoping that gives us some confidence for the trickier fixtures.

2 excellent chances missed. Could have won if we were quicker in thought. Bit of handbags in one of the corners after the game Long wait to get out of the car park now. Sirens going off.

I didn't really expect any difference; it's that there process.

I expected us to execute better. In some ways we did I thought (finding space at least trying to look forward) but in too many ways we didn't. The lack of urgency from about 70 minutes was mystifying. A good team will murder us down the flanks, but I suppose Obafemi may find more joy against a team that pushes up more.

One of the Process things that really grinds my gears is the insistence in letting the opposition reorganise. There was one Rother attack where they steamed 5 or 6 forward against our 3 or 4 back, then their bloke fell over and presented us the ball. What did we do? The tippy tappy shuffle until they had ten back behind the ball and we were still in our own half.

Long way to go, and that was largely OK ish as a first game goes...a point is a point...but I can't see that team, playing like that, being a serious threat to the big hitters.

I made exactly that same point at half time about the incident when their lad fell over. Really pisses me off.

That Obafemi miss though 🤦

Oh my stream had gone. I saw the Paterson save and the Manning inability to just welly it from 6 yards, but my stream went. Was it a bad one?

About 1 yard out at the far post, a tap in, managed to cut the ball back into the six yard box.
