As I have said before: the owners are American, they are highly experienced in American sports where it is entirely normal for any coach to be appointed with performance metrics - fail and you're gone unless the owners decide a change won't improve things.

I strongly suspect this is an admission by both sides that Martin will not meet his metrics this season and frees both parties to openly start looking for their way forward.

What are those metrics (if they exist)? Your guess is as good as mine. I think playoffs probably - 'playoffs' is a big word in US sports.

I’m with you there, Rodge. Martin even tried to shoehorn ‘metrics’ into some of his Alan Partridge esque speeches, maybe he was trying to convince those that mattered that he is the man.

His antics and ''passion'' on the sidelines today will be interesting to see if there is any truth in this.

He was obviously bored so decided to stir the pot

It’s comical, it’s just as much a cesspit on there and Twitter and the irony is that they’re over there slagging me and this site whilst no one has ever mentioned them. Pot, kettle, etc……

What I posted was neither positive nor negative. One or two on here need to drop the sanctimonious BS and grow up a bit.

If it's true I see no reason for him to see out what's left of the season.
He would no longer be interested in the job he's supposed to be doing and will be looking out for what his agent is lining up for him.
The players would have no interest in performing for him, just professional pride and wondering whether the next boss fancies them or whether they should try to get out of here.

I bet he hasn't supported the team since 73, right Copa?

Never, and he’s not a Superfan like me either, and he’s never drunk coffee with Biggs and Elvis in Rio.

Explain why what I posted was either positive or negative. I didn't give an opinion either way.
