• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Are we putting this move purely down to wages he will get there? Or we thinking something else is going on here.

Likely to be a combo of a few factors. Wages, length of contract, signing in fee, better mood around the camp, perceived better stability inside the club.

Not to mention working with one of the best midfielders of modern times who may get the best out of him and make him a better player.

Lampard still has it all to prove as a manager.
I wouldnt put him in the Rooney catagory ...yet. Both generational footballers.
He doesn't seem to have the charisma.
I truly believe that is a vital part of man management. He seems too "level" to be a manager. Sometimes the crockery has to be in danger.
Thomas Franck looks like a muppet puppet. You can tell he has passion though, the bug eyed fker.
I belive managers need a range of tools in order to motivate and engage their team. Steve Copper was another who was too level. Kick the fking door in when it requires it.

Been told by an impeccable source that he’s gone. Make of that what you will, or won’t.

3.5m rising to 4 apparently, 3yr deal with optional extra and he will be their joint highest earner. Wonder how much their top earner gets? Would put some things into perspective

I’m now looking forward to multiple threads on ‘Grimes watch’. It will be fascinating to see how this one plays out for Coventry.

If he has gone and doesn't play Saturday I wonder if he will be in the stadium with the Coventry staff.

Playing against us Saturday would be a real kicker...no doubt he would be higher up the field looking for a pass off Fulton.

Whether it was LW and the WBA fiasco, or the general slide into sh*t football and tedious tactics, finances restricting our business or something else, something has happened behind the scenes for him to suddenly want out.
This isn't just down to more money.
