• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Whether it was LW and the WBA fiasco, or the general slide into sh*t football and tedious tactics, finances restricting our business or something else, something has happened behind the scenes for him to suddenly want out.
This isn't just down to more money.

Nah, it's 90% about money, they're offering him a huge wage increase and he's 30. Mad not to.

Plus, it's probably got back to him by now that, despite most people within the club constantly rimming him, most of our fans have long since rumbled what's he's really about (personal stat padding) and that grift was coming to its natural end.

Great move for him - and we've got double what we could have realistically expected for such a limited player. Win-win. Perhaps social media hype isn't always such a bad thing after all 🤔

Grimes scoring on Saturday would simulataneously be the zenith, nadir, and endgame of former players scoring against us. It's utterly nailed on to happen if he plays, but would close the book on it happening again; can feel it in my loins

I notice that not many people share stats like that about him. That few tackles despite playing as deep as he does is pretty shocking really.
Shame there wasn't a "tackle's avoided" stat. Grimes would be hitting impressive figures for sure. Get this done, and i really couldn't give a toss if he plays against us on Saturday or not.

Are we putting this move purely down to wages he will get there? Or we thinking something else is going on here.

I'm not convinced. He could realistically get that kind of money in the summer (maybe more if his agent had until then to tout him about more).

But why is it suddenly imperative (from both the club's and his viewpoint) that the club captain leaves in the last week of the January transfer window?

A few weeks ago he gave that fluffy interview about being here a decade and look forward to the future.

Somethings happened.
