Cashless payments

He won't do jack shi*e, he's already had a mare calling the person names.. It evidently stands out as nothing but virtue signalling, unfortunately for Mr Itch, he failed dramatically to read the room.

Like it's not a particularly hard question, why is he a pillock? It seem's that somewhat stumped MR ITCHY, That's ok, judging by his anger, I have a feeling he has some issues going on with his personal life.. If that is the case, I will lay off, are you ok Itch? is that the case? Spill the beans mush.

Sorry, just catching up, I can assure I feel no anger. My opinion is unchanged, nothing to do with the room, it’s quite possible to share the view without sharing the attitude.

Yes but what attitude? If the video was presented in another way, say a person wasn't swearing, and also spoke a bit more eloquently? My point was you are having a go at him, when I think basically he got the point across. Like you don't know his attitude, the only thing you know is the presentation of the video. I don't know him, but he could be a nice bloke, what made him think to do a video, I don't know? But I stand by the words said, calling him a pillock without explaining why he is a pillock is a tad shoddy.

Back to the subject. If they won’t take cash…

Maybe we could pay with chocolate chips. 😉

If the club chooses a cashless payment scheme then that’s the bottom line, most will accept it, a small minority won’t. There will also be a small minority who are directly impacted by the decision as they won’t be able to spend in the shop. I am sure they the club officials weighed all this up when setting the decision to go cashless.

As for the club statement, they probably felt compelled to issue something on the basis of the video going viral and the inevitable embellishment of the story across social media. I have no problem with the statement whatsoever.

Just a point of order. Coutts didn't close Farage's accounts because of lack of funds. That was incorrectly reported by Simon Jack of the BBC, and the BBC have since had to (slightly) correct the article. And they did offer him a personal account (with NatWest, not Coutts itself) but not a business account. Don't let the facts get in the way though. Either way, someone at Coutts could be in big trouble regarding GDPR.

FWIW I'm no supporter of Mr Farage, but I think the move to a cashless society is a slippery slope. If you can't use cash, what's the point of cash.

Yes, they did.

If you read the dossier it makes it quite clear. He repaid his mortgage, which took him below commercial limits, and they then decided to ask him to move (despite others at Coutts being able to remain with the bank in similar circumstances because at that point it becomes entirely discretionary). They said back in the November before that they were keeping his accounts despite their misgivings as he still had the mortgage with them but would move him away when the mortgage went (which it did earlier than expected).

And, yes, as I said, they offered him an account with the same bank (NatWest group), just a different brand within it.

I agree with you that if, and it’s an if, someone at Coutts or indeed at the banking group disclosed info about him to the media then they are in big trouble and so they should be.

We will definitely move to a cashless society at some point. I just don’t think the club should have done so at this time.

I think the bloke was unfair swearing at the club shop staff though

Did he swear at the the shop staff though? The only words I heard on that video, were 'no mate' and here's 8 quid, phone the police' there was no swearing directed at staff.

I didn’t realise you were so easily offended. I should have realised.

One more time for you, I don’t disagree with his point of view on the whole….., do I think his reaction towards the staff was a bit OTT, yes. If I’d wanted to be really offensive I wouldn’t have chosen the word pillock, although I can see you are mortally wounded by it - or are you trying to hop on some bandwagon and make some other point….?

Dunno how many times I can answer the same question for you?

He said ‘phone the f****ing police’ to the person serving in the shop. As I said, I’m not sure that it was quite the ‘abuse’ claimed in the club statement, but he’d have been better not doing that to the staff who are just doing their job. We’ve all probably sworn at situations where it’s better not to and regretted it afterwards but hopefully not really at people who have nothing to do with why we’re angry.

So you don't disagree with his point of view on the whole, yet you call him a pillock? Why? you can hear what he says to the shop staff, he says 'no mate, and here's your 8 quid, phone the police' so come on why is he a pillock for saying that?, and also you say his reaction towards the staff? Unless you are privvy to different info, that is available before our very eyes, I am sorry but you are talking out of your bum hole mush.

No doubt that will be it. They do say that the EU pension scheme is a very good one.

On his point I never disagreed. Lost count of how many times I told you. Was his reaction OTT towards staff who weren’t doing it just to wind him up? You be the judge. What’s his reason for filming the outburst and putting it in the internet? I have no idea. Do I think it’s all a bit silly, yes. Do I think you’re being silly, absolutely.

The opinions expressed are my own.

No he did not say that, after you saying that I've just listened to it twice again, just to make sure, and No he does not swear, he says phone the police, not phone the fu**ing police.

There are all sorts of places he gets money from I imagine…

As a general rule btw I completely disagree with any business removing customers because they disagree with their views. If nothing illegal then it shouldn’t have an impact.

Same applies for Farage or a gay couple wanting a wedding cake.

I do think it’s funny though how much the ‘anti elite’ Farage is going mad because he can’t bank with Coutts.

Have you got kids? You don’t need to tell me none of my business, but if you did and you heard them talking to someone like that would you have a word with them? If it was mine I would. Good job we’re all different.
