Israel

So now you’re suggesting that Mossad sanctioned the disgusting atrocities that took place. Sick mate. Sick.

There are several sources claiming a warning was given that something big was going to happen but there was a lack of specific detail in relation to the actual act which would make it very difficult for the Israelis to prevent. It may be true but equally it may be bull I honestly don’t know. All we know for certain is that thousands of innocent people including babies and kids have lost their lives - it’s horrendous.

Engage your brain and put the strawman schtick down.

Nothing moves in the Middle East without Mossad either knowing about it or being the ones to make it move in the first place.

And that’s based on life experience or just student politics waffle ? Don’t bother answering. I‘m out.

Not sure they ‘handed over’, more ran away from the problem, which can be argued they were instrumental in creating….. but then if you go down that route how far do you go back and who can’t be blamed. Personally I’ve always had sympathy for modern day Palestinians there’s no doubt to me that Israel and Palestine both exist historically and geographically and there’s only one way to sort this out and it isn’t war. Unfortunately now war has to happen, people have to die, and a solution gets further and further away.

I wouldnt say we ran away from the problem but it had certainly become very unpopular domestically speaking. Unfortunately the US had its dirty mitts all over this. We (the UK) did not support the creation of either a Jewish homeland or or Arab state being created. The US (with its large Jewish population in NY and DC) refused to support the UK plan. Should the state of Israel have been created - probably not even though I have worked for a Jewish organisation in NYC but has it helped maintain some balance in that part of the world then that is debatable. A huge amount of people have needlessly lost their lives and many more will in the future. From the outside we think that there must be a solution but look at Northern Ireland.

This is the problem, everyone will choose a different point in history as a starting point. There’s no doubt that the both Israel and Palestine existed geographically but redrawing lines in 1948 created more problems than solution. The right thing us to have two autonomous nations and Israel being stopped from settling land that is not their’s, but that would mean Israel giving up territory and further redrawing of lines, and neither side will ever want to come to an agreement. The Palestinian people also need to find a way of self-governance that doesn’t include the likes of Hamas.

I asked my paymasters about the land grab and there was always a stubborn and indignant response as if it was righteous that it was indeed their land.
The UK was the sensible choice after WW1 to administer but certainlly not govern. The US should not have wielded its power over the region with a transparent bias. Any independent person would suggest two autonomous regions and that is how it should be. How this is resolved relies on Israel being fair but that wont happen.

A news cameraman got chased off by a looney mob at Stradey the other day, just a staff guy who was there to report on a good news story for the local community. People need to get a grip of themselves and if they can’t look at various news outlets without losing cognitive function maybe they should steer clear of the news altogether.

No wonder, you got banned sine die from that stradey fb group.

The reporter/photographer that was chased off, and told to ferk off, was from tales online, who have done stradey park no favours, do you think Tales Online should receive the red carpet treatment? When they have only said negative things about stradey? I say good on them. The furnace residents, that is.

On this point you are entirely inaccurate, FACT. I’m not going to engage in your nincompoopery over this and I’m not here to attempt to inform or educate you other than to say that you have been hook, lined and sinkered, and that I applaud the hard work and results that the genuine residents if Furnace and the local areas have worked hard and peacefully to achieve.

I’m struggling with this one. I support Israel’s right to exist and they have every right to fight back. However the disproportionate level of force that is coming and the lack of basic humanity toward civilian Palestinians troubles me.

The media are overwhelmingly biased towards Israel and again this is troubling. A wider conflict is looking more and more inevitable.

No life should be considered more important than another. It’s profoundly racist.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. The whole situation is profoundly tragic and the entire debate surrounding it is very depressing. The fact that it seems to be impossible to criticise Israel’s disproportionate response without being labelled a hater of Jewish people is very troubling. Ditto criticising Hamas’ as terrorists, which they clearly are, apparently makes you an inhuman bastard. What’s happening in Gaza is beyond comprehension but there’s no sensible middle ground it seems.

They both believe in two different gods, there's only one, and they both kill each other for it, it's been going on for thousands of years

That’s not true. Muslims and Jews believe in the same god.
