January Transfer Rumours

One player should be playing non league, the other has always been mince, great recruitment.
Or one should be working the car park ,the other playing at Mynydd Newydd.
Take yer pick...either or.

I think the appointment of Williams was a desperation signing. He was the lazy choice from the beginning with his links to us.

If we had the new ownership team in place at the time of Duffs sacking I do wonder if they would have appointed him.

After all if you pay peanuts you get monkeys.
If you pay peanuts you get peanut heads?

Why are we even bothering to be in this league. We can't compete on wages or transfers and rely on questionable journeyman to backfill key positions. We also have no ownership who will ever invest enough to have a true vision of promotion if we ever even want it. As for Coleman, does he really get it? Add him to another list of failed Americans who should stick to their own pastimes.

The history of our club has been built on the fact we've not been supposed to compete.

A stint in the premier league has skewed peoples idea on what type of club we are. One that has always punched above its weight.

We're going nowhere except League One with these feckin Yanks in charge.
We need a miracle, preferably in the shape of a Welsh consortium (sounds familiar) to buy them out, or any football loving international billionaire who doesn't come from a dodgy country like Psuedo Arabia.

It's January. This window is and always will be a difficult window to sign players.

Let's judge the new owners at the end of August.

A somewhat odd comment. Why did we bother in 2010/2011 and assemble a squad that included a right back who paid part of his own transfer fee? We were also a club at the thin end of the budget and wages scale.

And there lies the issue... signing Rangel after good recruitment to what we are doing currently signing the likes of Pedersen , Toe, Christie, etc

2010/11 was built on previous stability and foundation after our near league fall out. Adding quality and astute signings

We are where we should be, a mid table Championship side in my view, the new Bristol City. With potential to go in both directions very quickly with the right and wrong owners steering the ship.

Plenty of dodgy signings pre 10/11 as well mind - Amankwaah, Ijah Anderson, Pavel Abbott and many more that are best forgotten

The summer window of 2023 will go down in history.
It's why we find ourselves in this situation presently.

Summer will open things up, I'm confident of that.

Not sure we can be compared to Bristol City which is a massive city compared to us with a team that has been underachieving for decades.

They also have a huge gross debt. Spent big and still didn’t deliver on the pitch.

I’m only pulling you up on your question about why we bother. We’ve come good in this division before and there is no reason why we cannot do so again.

Where I am aligned with you is on the topic of recruitment. The recent track record isn’t great, despite relatively high levels of spend. Big improvement required here concerning value for money.
