She probably would, that doesn't alter my view though

Fair enough. Never has you down as being against women’s suffrage though. ;)

Protesting at the snooker, cricket, football is one thing but trying to get on a live race track is putting their lives in danger but more importantly other lives in danger so no I have no respect for that.

As is your right of course.

Any way Lewis Hamilton supports them, just WTF, I like Hamilton, but he doesn't half come out with some s**t on times, but like most "Celeb's" they live in a different world to the reality of the real world.

Plenty of people in the real world support them Max.

Good on celebs for the support of any perceived wrongs, with their exposure it just means even more people will highlight issues, as you are doing with your post.

Its a bit hypocritical though in it, he travels the world in planes, his job is speeding around race tracks in F1 cars etc.

How many of those protesters will be flying off somewhere for their holibobs, we all do it, you'll be doing it, I'll be doing likewise etc.

We're all hypocrites in one form or another.

We as individuals, and as a country aren't doing anywhere near enough to protect what is left of our planet. That bothers me. We are selfish, to different degrees.

I've no idea how many of those protesters will be flying off anywhere to be honest, not really bothered by it either. This is not about going on holidays. but it is the easy / lazy thing for those that don't care to point at.

We've killed this planet, through greed and self-want, and we are all guilty of that. I'm glad that the youngsters coming through now seem far more savvy and accepting of the situation.

Just Stop Oil have said that the lady who threw orange confetti at the wedding (yes confetti) had nothing to do with them.

We're a tiny little blob on the World Map, what are the Chinese, India, Russia or the US doing, its like everything in this country if government see an opportunity to get yet more money out of Joe public they'll do so, all the while their shares increase massively in their stakes in those relevant areas.

Yeah lets say f*ck it then, nobody else is bothered.

Change doesn't come from doing nothing.

You think we can influence those countries mindsets then?

Those who are protesting in this country need to get on their bikes and peddle along to the Countries that should be leading the way, instead of causing disruption and chaos here and lets see how far they get.

We keep hearing "buzz words" like carbon neutral and green energy and all these companies are focusing on are filling their till's Cher Ching, Cher Ching, Cher Ching that's all they are thinking about, I can guarantee it.

I'll go further, I can have a job in Bridgend and my next job could be in Carmarthen or West Wales areas, where's the fuking sense in all that when they keep harping on about being "Green" and you got senior management complaining that Engineers are sitting idle whilst their Electric vans are Charging, so you tell me as to where their priorities lie. I know exactly where they lie, I hear it at briefings an team meeting, hypocrisy rules.

Well said Max.

NJ you got me at it now and on a Sunday, if these companies had any fuking sense they'd make sure that their disruption teams know about the Geography of different post code areas, SA18/19 isn't 2 minutes down the road from SA13 etc.

Why are you pointing at other countries, point at this one first.

Of course companies will look to make money from it, that is how the world has always, and will always work. It's not a reason to down tools though. Can't comment on how the company you work for is run, you need to speak to them about it. That's how change comes about, starts with one voice, then slowly and gradually those voices get louder until we get change. It's not an overnight thing.

I'm surprised that a working class man such as yourself has such a negative view on peoples right to protest. The Tory shiteheads who you regularly lambast on here, are trying to take that right away from us. Can't you see that? You may not agree with the Just Stop Oil crowd, but you should support their right to protest nevertheless.

Nothing wrong with healthy, polite debate Max, it keeps the old grey matter ticking over. I've learnt loads from this forum from way back in the day. One of them being 'There's no point having a mind if you never change it'.
