STEVE COOPER EYES IMPROVED PERFORMANCE AT "DANGEROUS" HUDDERSFIELD

Source: Swansea Official Site

Steve Cooper wants Swansea City to build on their hard-earned win over Nottingham Forest and produce an improved performance against a “dangerous” Huddersfield side.

The Swans head to West Yorkshire on the back of their 1-0 win at the Liberty in midweek, sealed by a late Connor Roberts header.

Head coach Cooper admitted his side had not been at their best, but was full of praise for the heart and desire they showed to climb back up to third in the Championship table.

But the Swansea boss hopes to see a more fluent display at the John Smith’s Stadium, and believes it will certainly be needed against a Terriers side who have suffered a dip in form, but were very unfortunate to suffer defeat at Middlesbrough in midweek.

“It’s about playing well in the next game, that’s really important because I don’t think you can rely too heavily on games like the last one,” he said.

“You take them when they come, and we might look back at it and realise how important a moment that was.

“But, as I’ve said before, this season is different, it is hard to predict and hard to prepare. We’ve got 10 games in 31 days coming up, and when has that ever happened?

“All I am focused on is Huddersfield, it is a dangerous game, they played really well against Middlesbrough in midweek and we have got to be ready.

“There’s still a big chunk of the season to go, so you look forward rather than back.

“We know we will have to be very good, tactically and technically, on Saturday.”

What an opportunity now, none of this passive slow start nonsense. Straight for the throat now gents please.

Unchanged from Wednesday... id have at least rotated one of Ayew or Lowe.

A loss in the reverse fixture and Brentford bottling it once again, should be all the incentive we need for today.

I'm a bit surprised at that too, quite a few looked tired on Wednesday and it's not as if we haven't got some more than decent players in the squad now so I'm hoping a few get a lot more than 15 minutes today. It's not just for rotation, we have a number of good players who still need to get up to speed and they won't do that sitting on their arses.

Very surprised no changes.. could be argued nobody got out of first gear against Forest so we have a lot in the tank .

Rico Henry's injury today should warn us about fatigue and overplaying so hopefully 3 points and no injuries

I've a feeling they've had a rocket up their arses. And a chance to put it right.

I reckon it’s more like they were on cloud nine after nicking the win and he’s trying to ride the wave. I really can’t see Cooper doing rockets. Plus he dislikes changing the team.

Make no mistake, the scoreline from St Andrews will have fillterd through to the players at Hudds, the players will be lifted no doubt, we need to go out and grab this game by the scruff of the neck, something we have been failing to do quite often recently.

This really is a pivotal month coming up.

Yes, an unchanged starting 11 very odd indeed, especially as this game is away - suggests playing the same formation, tactics etc. (albeit no bloomin fans anyway). In Cooper we trust though!
