Cracking finish from Whittaker showing what he can offer on right wing without Ayew

Ok. I know it’s only plymuff in a friendly but this looks so much better. Like we know what we are trying to do and moving. I guess the real acid test is when out players are put under pressure. Do they trust their skill or whang it.

Cullen with a cheeky flick for 2-0, his 4th goal of preseason I believe

Couple of great blocks from Bennett so far, playing like a cup final and promotion at stake throwing himself in front of shots

Latibeaudiere has been bullied a couple of times by that right winger, needs to be stronger especially as a centre half

Lati looks a bit sluggish so far, Whittaker looking good though.

My half time opinions:

Benda: Hasn't had to do a lot but has done all he needed to and made the right decisions with his distribution
Naughton: Solid and often starting attacks, his simple short passes around the opposing box sometimes lacking but decent showing
Bennett: Looks hungry for new season, a few diving blocks in the box
Latibeaudiere: Has looked shaky and easily bullied, possible weak link and needs to be stronger
Bidwell: Started slow but has put in a couple of good balls, plenty of energy
Grimes: Grimes is as Grimes does, link man and always offering himself up for the ball
Fulton: Done a similar role to Grimes, not really gotten forward as we know he can
Dhanda: Has probed but not really created much, needs ball to feet though to shine
Whittaker: Great shot for opening goal, we haven't really played quick one touch footie to get him in and shine but shown he can perform
Lowe: Likewise we haven't really played to his strengths, one good chance in box but couldn't get it out of his feet
Cullen: Nice improvisation for goal, good movement but needs to work on his holdup and link play when trying to up the tempo
