Season 21/22: Plymouth vs Swansea Official Friendly Match Thread

Cullen showing why he isn't the finished article, he can be forgiven for some poor passing around the box if he keeps putting away a goal every game though.

That said the quality of some of the chances we are conceding it quite concerning. Benda with a good save to keep it at 2-1

Walsh has given it away a few times but he does move the ball far quicker than our other central midfielders, could be useful. I'd like to see him play alongside Grimes.

Agreed, I feel that he and Grimes will play very well together. Could leave Nigel Pearson with plenty of egg on his face

I've noticed mind you, Benda does love playing a sweeper keeper role, usually a good 10-15 yards outside of his box

Which Renato, the 2017 or the 2021 version?
Have to say we looked like we are going to be playing the same way as we did last 2 seasons.
The second half was an exercise in back passing for no purpose.
I think Argyle got more from that than we did.
I can’t fathom Cooper's think on our attack and we desperately need Cabango back to boss the defence.
Benda looked good, Walsh had a few good moments.

Cracking finish from Whittaker showing what he can offer on right wing without Ayew

will be a very good player - criminally underused back end of last season

Some might say he’s been our best player on the night, although he didn’t play for 90 mins.

That's it we're doomed, Blackburn will hand us a drubbing and it won't get better for the rest of the season. I hope I am wrong but, signing a 19 year old kid, a bloke who has played an average of 10 games a season, and a striker who can't find the net with Google maps isn't the recipe for success in the Barclays Championship

I think he might offer more in the no10 role than sitting alongside Grimes

Curtis said in commentary what is the point of passing back and along the back four, we know we can do that , let’s try getting the ball forward quickly or through the midfield.

Is that last bit a joke that I'm completely missing?

Thanks Phil, I will do a match thread for the matches with crowds and we can see how it goes from there. Too early to say if this will be permanent yet.
