Isn't it funny how having a manager that knows what he's doing can make a team play better football in ten days that the last one did in two years... Look at the difference in our players, playing with a smile on their faces. Exciting times again.

True, but can he also get results? He's got to balance the 2 and tonight wasn't a test. What sounded most promising about tonight was that we were less suicidal at the back with Benda sitting much deeper and not thinking he was fkn Pirlo, like at the weekend. That was news to my ears as he was a liability on Saturday. Good signs that Martin is managing to shape the way they play in only a few days imo. I'm optimistic, but early days and all that.

Just got home
Brilliant game, Naughton was at center center back, lati rwb, Piroe looks special
Youngsters did well
Was a weak Reading team and we gave them 2 free headers but we dominated

Got home quick Baston, still on my way home, had a certain Mr Winter open the barrier for my mates car to get out of the ground, he looked very happy when I thanked him for appointing Martin.

Two seasons not being promoted so a third will make no difference.
Two season bored turgid so the third will bring some joy.
We'll still be in the Championship.

I think its unrealistic to expect promotion this season, but the fact Martins already making changes like moving Lati out to wb, KN to center back and giving a few youngsters a go while getting over 70% in 2 away matches in 9 days in charge is exciting

I’ve advocated for Naughton to play at cb for a while, you need a calm head in there. The best teams play that way.

Also didn’t latib play for Man City and England at Rb?

Yeah but he was also RCB, so when Roberts bombed forward he'd slip into rb, he was center like a sweeper last night, think we can expect Bennett and Naughton to play that role this season as it doesnt require a lot of pace

I honestly think Cooper has a chance of being permanent fixture in this team, only out and out centre half we have who looks comfortable when playing out (albeit he will have to show against alot better opposition). Also wouldn't be shocked to see Naughton stay where he was with Cabango or Bennett other side.

Interesting to read a couple of comments about our “experienced” team against Reading’s “kids”.
Brenda only 2nd game at this level
Cooper a few games last season in cups but still inexperienced
Naughton- experienced- Joseph -experienced but young.
Cobango - pretty experienced but still young
Bidwell - experienced- replaced by McFayden inexperienced
Joel - pretty inexperienced at this level a few more games than Cooper
Dan Williams - Inexperienced at this level
Grimes - experienced- Replaced by Manning - experienced
Whittaker - Pretty Experienced but still young and learning
Joel Piroe - Not much experience at this level
Dhanda - Experienced but still pretty young

Not really that much of an experienced side and plenty only making their first appearance for us.

Pretty much standard selection for cup games for us, this is where first saw 1st team appearances for Dan James, McBurnie, Allen etc overall goes to show that the academy is still an important resource for us.

Does anyone know if there will be a full match replay of the Reading game on Swans TV and if so when it might be available?

Given the levels of hysteria I'm seeing regarding last nights win, the club should consider releasing the game on video. Sure to sell out.
