If there is one thing that football fans hate, its not signing players. Losing is number one obviously, but i reckon not getting players in is a shoe in at number 2.

It's okay Lisa writing that about sustainability, but putting it into practice is another thing altogether. Show me a club of our size and set up, including geographical location, that is run sustainably. That is a genuine request, as I don't know if one even exists, or maybe there are loads that do.

The current owners are on the face of it, giving it their best shot to not ruin us.

Our infrastructure costs are too high. We waste money on loans that provide nothing. We pay some players far too much. We have entered into deals that are financially poor (stadium for example).

I spent my career getting businesses to run sustainably. There is so much flab that could be removed, and more that can be done on income. It takes a while, but this lot have had 7 years.
I agree that they could be worse. And I they are not taking big sums out of the club when they could be. But there is so much they could do to get us to the point where we break even.

Fair enough. I haven’t looked on there for ages and only the Doctor Who subreddit in the main. Which was mental but Doctor Who does tend the attract the crazies so that maybe not Reddit's fault.

I don’t think it is not signing players. I think it’s false promises. If they’d been upfront and said we don’t have the resources, we think we are likely to stay in this division whatever we do, so we choose to make savings and plan in the summer I don’t think there is the pushback.

If they’d said we are not going to invest I’d have thought many would think it was a good decision. It’s obvious that they planned to but were incompetent. That’s what annoys people.

Without being disrespectful, don't you think plenty of specialist business people such as yourself have tried with any number of clubs before? Are there any clubs at this level that are run sustainably? That don't have to rely on player sales or generous "loans"?

Im not really assessing if they are doing their best NJ within their competence. I think I’m basically onside with what they say they are trying to do. I’m saying as Lisa has pointed out, they could do better. That needs them to realise they don’t understand the business environment we are in and trusting people that do. That’s when ego gets in the way. The way they bulldozed the Trust (weaknesses there notwithstanding) and now bleat about supporters not loving them gets my goat too, I admit.

Without being disrespectful, don't you think plenty of specialist business people such as yourself have tried with any number of clubs before? Are there any clubs at this level that are run sustainably? That don't have to rely on player sales or generous "loans"?

Player sales are fine - part of a sustainable model. Many may have - I’m not sure. I’m not saying it’s easy. But losing millions while finishing 15th is not great. I think they make some silly decisions.
