• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

This must mean we are bringing in a striker.

Otherwise it’s genuinely ludicrous.

There’s a even money chance Idah’s recovery will take longer than hoped for (they often do, or it’s ok for a short while then goes again) and that means we are a twisted knee away from having Cullen start and no one on the bench for six or eight games.

Plus we’ve lost two wingers (one brought in) albeit one was utterly useless and two centre backs (Santos is about to go as well as Casey) and are bringing in a youngster with next to no experience.

It’s odd to say the least.
As many have said, Matos has openly said he sees players to have more than 1 position and feels Cullen and Widell can play that role. Idah will be back next month. Personally I would of liked some form of replacement or at least keep Wales. But clearly they want the fast track his exposer to first team.

Wales has barely figured, people need to calm down and trust the manager and owners.

I like Widell but he's made 28 appearances for us & hasn't scored a goal yet so that's a bit of a stretch!

That’s because we’ve been lucky with injuries since Idah was injured.

There’s no amount of trust or otherwise that can prevent an injury.

The same will be true if we go the next two months without Vipotnik being injured btw. Given you don’t understand the difference between risk and outcome…

BTW - if it was actually true the club are happy to go with Cullen / Widell as a striker, they wouldn’t have been trying very, very hard to bring one in for at least most of this window. And they have been.

That’s why I’m amazed Wales has left if one hasn’t actually been secured. If they’d not been trying it would have seemed more deliberate perhaps.

Everything is a risk in football but we can’t have 4-5 people to cover every position. It’s a 25 man squad maximum and we could never afford more

Where has it been said we’ve put any serious efforts in to getting a striker? We probably made a few enquiries just in case there was a bid for Vipotnik. But I haven’t seen any mention of a genuine bid.
