• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Top ten? You have to be kidding, the owners haven't got these type of players through the door to just get top 10 . We were around that last season.
Yeah but it’s not that simple as getting a load of good players in and profit. It’s been a complete team overhaul, half the players leaving and as many new faces coming in. We’ll need time until we’re firing on all cylinders. We’ve started well so far and seen brief periods in games showing what we can do. But it will be a while until that is consistent, it doesn’t happen overnight.

I’m not saying it can’t happen, I’m hoping it can. But I won’t be disappointed if they’re not top 6 this year. The championship is so competitive that realistically it takes a run of successful transfer windows to be pushing for promotion. Just enjoy the journey and don’t focus too much on the destination.

Was watching the Sheffield Wednesday game back, you can see players are still getting used to one another despite some continuity from last year. Sloppy in the first half particularly with flashes of what we could be in the second. Hoping all the new signings settle in well and we start seeing more fluidity soon. Idah will really help us on the counter.

I'm sure Bristol Rovers Mk Dons and Colchester fans would say different
Based on the twelve years Tisdale was at Exeter he was much sought after and after joining MK Dons gained automatic promotion to League 1. After leaving the Dons following a bad run, he was at Bristol Rovers just three months after signing a two and half years contract.

Following an advisory role at Colchester United he played a significant part in a revival that saw the club finish in a comfortable position in League Two. A few months later he took over at Stevenage but lasted just four months.
Tisdale stayed less than four months at both Rovers and Stevenage and for some he was seen as a failure but take away 50 or so league games from over 700 he was very much a successful manager which included promotion back to the Football League, promotion to League 1, two P/Off Finals in consecutive seasons and an automatic promotion at MK.

On a twitter post Ginnelly announced that he's 9 months fit.
Begs the question why he wasn't given a chance - by Williams or Sheehan. Or even a loan to prove himself.

We finished 7 points off the play offs last season despite the Luke Williams effect, a horrible run in the new year and a threadbare squad. Anything less than genuinely challenging would be disappointing although I would say whilst the top two or three don't appear as strong the rest of the clubs definitely seem to have considerably strengthed
I think a few clubs ended up a lot closer to the top than they would have expected such as Bristol City and Millwall and I'd put us in that bracket too after our poor first half showing, while clubs like Boro, WBA and Norwich definitely underachieved so it's likely that all these clubs will be thinking that with a bit more and better investment, they could realistically push for top 6 this time. Coventry may even be targeting auto after coming so close.

Adam Idah will get you goals; he'll miss quite a few too. He didn’t really get a decent run of games at Celtic Park with Kyogo and then Maeda as first picks up top. Don't expect too much too soon; he hasn't had many minutes on the grass so far this season, but once up and running, he'll be a menace.
I hope so, because I'm not convinced he's a striker who bangs them in for fun

I do recall him coming on as a sub in one game and hoping he was getting back to full fitness but it never happened. Seems strange if he's now saying he'd been fit for that length of time.

Maybe he's just saying that so any prospective suitors think his injury woes are fully behind him or maybe he just wasn't all that !!

This, in spades

Been told that expectations are massive this term, and the players feel it too. Most esp the new boys.

There’s a proper buzz around the place now, and at so many levels.

I think there will be a Kone v Idah comparison at the end of the season whether our extra £3M outlay is/was a good investment
