There’s an argument for both really isn’t there. He’s new to the job, so he’s a bit inexperienced, also seemingly had the backing of the board. However his tinkering and changing of the 11 isn’t helping, maybe that’s down to his inexperience, but this needs addressing. Also might be worth him considering adding an attacking coach to his set up.
For me I’m in the ‘in’ camp as I don’t want us to be seen a sacking club. All teams have a sticky patch. Christmas will be vital and our league position come the new year will probably give us a ball park as to where we’ll finish.

I think the ‘tinkering’ and ‘not knowing his best XI’ is a bit harsh (there’s plenty of other sticks to beat him with atm unfortunately).

From the 3rd to 12th game we knew 9 of the starting line up, with a bit of rotation on the left wing and in central midfield when there were 3 league games in 8 days.

Things weren’t working, so he changed formation against City and has stuck with that for the two league games with 9 starting both games.

The days of the same 11 playing every week (unless injured/suspended) are long gone - and largely have been for 20 years, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he doesn’t/didn’t in the previous formation know what ‘best XI’ he’d pick.

In answer to the question I’d stick with him for the time being, but totally understand those that want to roll the dice and make a change - based on performances as much as results.

It’s frustrating as I like the guy but I still can’t see what his style of play is really. It’s not defensive and hit on the counter as we don’t move the ball quickly enough for that. It’s not go at teams and make them defend.
He needs to show us a lot more. As some have said maybe he needs an experienced attacking coach to work with him?
At the moment it’s not winning football and it’s not entertaining either. Not good.

Still giving him time, things need to change and change pretty sharpish.

Time for talking is over Alan.

Second half against Charlton and last night against Preston were a bit better, that’s a sign of improvement. If we can put in a good attacking performance against Ipswich (not necessarily expecting to win) then I’d be happy to give him some more time. All I wanted to see was some signs of improvement and although the quality of them wasn’t great last night, we at least created a few chances.

I say give him time.
He seems willing to learn and doesn’t have a ridiculous ego like the other managers we have had.
He has also had to change the shocking defensive issues we had trained into players under Martin and Williams.
I think he will find a way.
Last night to me showed that we were at least trying to attack a lot more with sustained pressure.
Eventually we may start to find the killer ball into the box!

Ps I am not Alan Sheehan 🤣

For second match in a row we have had plaudits from the other team. Personally it frustrates me. Both teams to me look average, irrelevant of there position and are we now the club that gets a pat on the back by clubs who in my eyes are not as good. It's sad state of affair in my eyes. We are either a team on the verge of becoming a great team if we get the attacking sorted or we are a team who looks attractive and nothing else.

Easy to say nice things after you've just won.
