It is but I can't see how Galbraith goes for less than 15. Ditto with vip for 10+ if he carries on
£15m is a lot for a midfielder after one season in the championship.

And I’d be surprised if Vipotnik generates the same sort of fee as Piroe.

We’d get a tidy sum for the two if all went very well for them both this season, don’t get me wrong, I am just saying £25m combined in the summer is a heck of an ask.

Sums received as rarely anywhere near as high as are speculated.

We didn’t get £12m for Piroe.

We did get a promotion add on but I haven’t included similar for Vipotnik / Galbraith as that’s so dependent on where they go and what they do.
According to transfermarkt the fee was 14m euros plus addons

According to transfermarkt Galbraith’s current value is a million quid while Ronald’s value is double that at 2 million quid as well…

In all seriousness, the values on that site are just made up much of the time.

Edited to add: if Idah is out for a ‘long time’ (per Matos), Piroe would be a great loan move in January given they want him to leave it seems.

He wouldn't come - hated being here

With it opening imminently, where do we need to strengthen?
For me, a right back is a big priority. Galbraith has done well there, but it takes out what he offers in the middle of the park. Although to be fair, midfield have done well since Matos has come in.
And with Idah out, maybe a striker as back up to Vip? Talking of Idah, I think he could offer us more than what Ronald is currently. Maybe he could’ve played out wide instead of vying with Vip for a central spot.
Thoughts?

Do we upset the rhythm by moving Galbraith back to the middle? He looks excellent there. Either way we do need a rb for cover/rotation but I'd be happy with Parker there personally.

Statement winger (esse/rak-saki) and a specialist 10 will push us to top half.

Agree think we should keep Galbraith RB until the summer and reassess then.

Bring in a loan physical box to box midfielder and a loan RW.

If we can get a 1st choice right back on a long term contract it’s a no brainier 1 - if not stick with Galbraith

I’d expect a winger to replace Benson - assuming he goes back to Burnley

Apart from that I don’t see any incomings unless we sell or lose any of the other loanees.

It's a lot easier to find a good loan midfielder then a good loan RB in January imo.

Ideally a RB, Winger and creative 10 but we would be ok if we only brought a RB in, we would kick on if we brought all in.
Benson,Santos and you could probably say that Ronald could be moved on.

I think that’s definitely true.

However, I’m not sure we’ll bring in another central midfielder unless we lose one though. We’ve already got 6 (7 if you include Cullen) competing for the 3 places so I’d be surprised if it’s signed off from a numbers/financial perspective.

I wonder if, given the long term injury to Idah, whether a loan move for Piroe makes sense now. Not only to cover/provide competition for Vipi, but also because he's a more than capable #10 too, and we could use one of those.

Dan James was incredible.

Dyer was very quick.
Montero as well,

Sinclair was quick.

I’m struggling to think of too many more recently. None of the forwards. Nor full backs. Actually Celina was quite quick.

We’re not a counter attacking team though so it isn’t the most important bit.

Idah looks like he may be quick but haven’t really seen him stretch out.
Montero was potentially the fastest of them all (ask Arsenal), however he was a touch too fast for his hamstrings 🙄

Montero was not actually that fast (not to say he was slow), what he DID have was insane stop start acceleration and it was that kind of punishment that did in his hamstrings

Sam Parker is meant to be rapid but he is a full back rather than a winger and he currently isn't getting tracked for development (the latter of which is something that I hope that Matos will change)
